I'm asking what's to be done next? I should have included an entirely new front office. |

I don’t get why he’s arguing. He literally just suggesting upgrading half of the existing D and replacing the 3C that they just traded for. |

You take everyone's approach as full argument. Maybe I should just say
"I don't like the make up of this team, they suck. Please don't talk to me about it"

Have you been to Tempe? Phoenix? Hockey can do well if the arena isn’t 90 minutes away. How would the Canucks do if they played In chilliwack? |

I would guess that the new management group is now doing things like evaluating their pro and amateur scouting staff. The pro staff have been dreadful, so hopefully that improves. You just suggested upgrading Hunt (UFA signing), Burrows (UFA signing) and one of MYers (UFA signing), OEL (trade), Schenn (UFA signing), Poolman (UFA signing) or Hamonic (UFA signing) - I’m not really sure which one, as you weren’t specific.
You also suggested upgrading D ickinson (trade).
But other than that you’re good?
With the team up against the cap how are you going to fit in all these upgrades, and sign Boeser and Motte next year and Miller and Horvat the year after that? |

Don't forget, our record is largely thanks to Demko. JR had it right when he said this is at best and average team getting bailed out by a Franchise goalies. Our biggest issue is a need for better PKers and realistically a right handed centre that can PK. - Retinalz

Canucks are set up nicely. Almost everyone’s had a positive test. Now they don’t have to test to cross the border for 180 days. |

It is hard to get momentum even as a fan with the stop start, stop start.
Last night they looked horrible but a 6 day off in between games. Longer for Hughes. It makes it hard for management also with trades and evaluations.

Upgrades aren't always more expensive.
Trade Garland, Richardy and either Hamonic or Poolman. 10M in cap space to sign Boeser. Even with a raise to his QO that's still 8.3M extra in cap space.
Motte can go. He's an 900K player.
Canucks need an upgrade on the left side for the PK.
OEL is 72nd in blocks among Left handed D.
Myers is 5th and Poolman 27th.

If you watched that game last night and thought “Canucks look great, this is a playoff team that can do some damage” you need thicker glasses.

Out of sync in this one, against the leafs was worse but picked up 4 points, they’ve played well in lots of games and lost, the way it goes for every team. |

There are some positives but this is the team that Benning and to some extent, Green built. I'm happy with the direction under Boudreau and Rutherford has so far done what he said he wanted to do. It is also refreshing to hear an honest assessment of the team from management. I think one or two key trades could turn the fortunes of this team around fairly quickly but until I see that change this is still the same perimeter team that relies on allstar goaltending. I think after the shitshow of the past 8 years, people are still entitled to be pessimistic. I thought the Canucks looked like they did at the start of the season last night and were lucky to win against an equally disorganized looking team. - Marwood
And there is absolutely nothing at all wrong with that, but does everyone have to be of the same mindset? I have always stated that I like the talent of the team, that's me, all me. This blog is filled with nothing but negative comments on every player on this team, I am just offering a different perspective,
1. that they are winning,
2. that the new coaching has had an impact
3. their winning percentage is hovering around 700 (since the coaching change) which is what everyone seems to want but will not acknowledge the Canucks for.
So back to me, I don't see an issue with pointing out some positives while everyone else has their nickers in a knot. If it is upsetting to some that is unfortunate but oh well... https://youtu.be/RrkVyXFsx6Y |

I brought in up in response to the continued criticism on this team, that is the record under Boudreau, I could give a rats ass if there are a faction that can only see negative aspects of the club.
The team needs a few moves but there is a positive to this team and that right now is the turn-around from the Green era, they are winning and that is the focus....or everyone but a few here can claim non stop doom and gloom and proclaim that as their right because 50+ years...yada, yada.
All good from me, I'll continue to be positive, you guys continue to be negative and life continues. - Makita
Good post, doesn’t matter how you win, just win it builds confidence, they know it wasn’t their A game. I expect them to be much better against the ducks but there will be some excuse like no Gibson, or getzlaf etc.

Patrik Allvin on JT Miller - I am not going to trade a player just for the media. JT has been our most consistent and best player.
2m
Allvin on Boeser : He is a really really good player, he is a goal scorer. We will see where it goes with his camp.
