I like the player. But who goes back to the Coyotes?

The player I'm wondering about is Getzlaff. If the Ducks fall out of it, would he come back to Calgary for a playoff run. A playmaking centre who can take faceoffs would sure change the forward group. He'd likely be gone in the summer but he still has a lot of fans in Calgary from his days with the Hitmen and he was around to see the '04 run so who knows, he might be interested.

I could possibly see him doing it as a rental for a couple months but that’s it. He is never leaving SoCal long term. His wifey would never go for it.

Getzlaf isn't anywhere near the player he used to be. I don't even think he makes the Flames better if he was free. I also don't see the Ducks souring the relationship by asking him to waive, and I doubt he's all that interested in moving anywhere else.

He's still pretty damn good and he'd definitely be the best playmaking centre on the team. He'd have to want to come to Calgary and he'd probably end up back on the ducks next year.

This doesn’t make sense to me. He’s still a pretty good player, has leadership qualities, played in Calgary as a junior, big body that Sutter would love to have, it’s a 2 month thing maybe 3, chance to go deep in the playoffs, can return to Disneyland when it’s over. What are you basing your statement on?
