I don't see it being a huge deal either, they won't be the ones making decisions

I will whine when they make dumb trades or picks but at the moment, it's internal business.

And I didn't question Bobrov. I did question MSL and Vinny for the reasons I've listed which again, aren't really being refuted (other than a part of my opinion on MSL - just not the facts behind my opinion).

It's like your "if you build it they will come" from the blog. Fact free but looks great as a slogan.

So far, you can't tell me that the MSL hire looks bad. He's at least playing top 6 players in the right spot and telling them to use their talent rather than put them in shackles in a boring system that makes them afraid of having the puck... Personally, I don't care that this organization decided to hire elsewhere than they normally do, they seem to have an offense first mentality and that is so refreshing. And as a plus, they are hiring french canadian guys as well (which should shut up the medias but it doesnt of course), they may not have experience but they will learn and grow in the organization hopefully.

Reminds me of the summer when I suggested it was time to rebuild and complained about:

Savard
Hoffman
Dvorak
Perrault
Paquette

I was told everything would be great, they just made the cup finals, give it a chance...because, yeah, that poop happened. Remember when the Habs awesome wingers would make Dvorak into a high level 2 C? Good times.

it's not like we have an impact on anything here anyway

if they can play better untill the end of the season it's s start

I think Petry doesn't move untill the draft, if he does move at all

Toffoli went early because of his contract

Fun fact...there are no facts in your comment. Lots of feelings but no facts. I like to analyze based on facts not feelings. To each their own

Lebrun - The Lecavalier role is similar to Scott Niedermayer's recent appointment in Anaheim.

I've been calling for a rebuilt for a few years, never believed this team had what is needed to do anything unless you get a fluke stretch as we saw last summer.

Since Price is done until at least next year, Weber is done, they are weak at center and on the wing, lack serious talent coming up with the forward group, it is time to take a big step back and retool. Glad it is actually happening...I trust Gorton and Hughes will do everything they can to build a strong management group in the coming months, same with the TDL, draft and UFA season. I am hoping they go into next season not trying to make the playoffs but stay focused on the retool for one more year. short term pain, long term gain.

Or I both hire a lot and work with companies on their hiring and can objectively look at what's going on and question it. First time GM comes in and hires his friends who are all first time everything starts to look bad if you don't just say "maybe it'll be ok, give it a chance". Wanting it to be a good situation doesn't mean ignoring things that look bad and hoping for the best
- Takemedrunkimhome

So your "professional" opinion is to ignore someone Gorton/Hughes know and trust are going to be able to help so they can start a hiring process with people they don't know and "hope it will turn out alright" despite not knowing them at all?

I'm sorry but, once again, I disagree with your vision and think you're just spinning things negatively for nothing.

I liked the first trade and stated so. Doesn't mean I shouldn't question questionable moves and hiring practices. When they do well I'll give them their flowers and when they act in a questionable way I'll call it out. I'm not sure why people are upset by that other than being confronted with issues they may prefer to ignore

Knowing somebody shouldn't be very high on the list of reasons you hire somebody for a competitive position. If anything it may be a detriment. There are so many organizational studies that back this up. Yes men are built from known relationships. If Gorton is scared because of what happened to him in NY that's a flaw he needs to work through not a good reason to hire friends
