And my point is this is a poor defense of questionable hiring practices. If the best that can be mustered is let's see what they can do that is not a good sign

Well, the best sucess stories I've seen in hiring in offices ( huge ones and for 20 years) is hired under recommandations. Internal to the department hiring
You just have to be careful to
take recommandations from smart people, to me all the difference is there, And ask people that are productive too
You have a guy thats smart and work well, have him bringing people if he can, people usually hang out with people like them ( same level of intelligence type of deal, not twins per say ;-) )
So, since I think both Gorton and Hughes are smart, I think it should go well. Also its not like that news got anything else than a shrug for me this morning ( AKA not waiving pompoms)
