Caufield 1g/g player for all MSL's tenure. - Réal_Ruelle
Show's what a pre-Madonna he is. Actively trying to destroy a coaches livelihood whom he doesn't like just to ruin his life by not scoring goals. Cancerous behavior. |

Glad they're bringing in a guy with a reputation as a hard worker who will do whatever it takes... |

Luthor, St-Louis and Vinny are good friends, Luthor was Vinny's agent and remained good friends.
Vinny does not want to move his family from Florida so I guess he will travel from time to time, hence why a special advisor role only |

My point is Vinny was all talent no work. He squandered his gifts and was a shell of the player he could have been if he had any work ethic. His work ethic in his career is almost the exact opposite of MSL so bringing him in makes little sense to me, especially if the guy won't even commit to being local. It's as half assed a commitment as you could get which is exactly what I expect from Vinny and why I'm not in favour of him at all. But sure...bring in your friends rather than the most qualified people |

Know nothing of him, I'm not a scouting expert. If you'd prefer to ignore facts from the past when examining a situation and play ostrich I wish more power to you. I prefer to live in reality and not to ignore key details and facts when making decisions. Nobody disputed what I had to say about MSL because it was all true, people just preferred to ignore it. If you'd like to dispute what I said about Vinny, I look forward to debating the facts presented |

Lots of criticism about the Habs turning into a country club were friends are hired. Gorton and Hughes were hired because the Canadiens saw them as the best people for the job. Nothing wrong with them getting the people who helped them be successful in the past. Gorton has worked with Bobrov in Boston and New York, he knows what he's getting and clearly trusts him. Hughes represented Lecavalier for years and clearly had a good working relationship with him. Give this new era a chance before criticizing for the love of god... |

Pretty sure most here disagreed with your assessment of him being a bad leader. But hey, different interpretations of numerous posts I guess.
But sure, keep calling your vision of people "facts" when they are nothing but an opinion of someone you know close to nothing about aside from watching him play hockey.
Hiring people you know and trust to be good at something is something everyone does because you trust these people more than some guy you interviewed for 2 hours. It just makes sense.

Me questioning his leadership wasn't a fact. The way he displayed that leadership in demanding out of Tampa is a fact and that wasn't disputed. That is the difference between facts and opinions. Feel free to dispute that if you'd like, I'm open to discussing it.
Hiring friends can also be seen as hiring yes men and does nothing to build a team of rivals which tends to bring the best out in organizations. Differing opinions is often a benefit not a negative in an organization trying to become the best |

Gorton, Luthor and MSTL are in charge, everybody else plays an advisory or minor role. Up to Luthor and Gorton to make the right decisions in the restructuring of this organization, they will be judged, they are in charge. |
