yes, I've witnessed a certain level of skepticism coming from your posts...

generally speaking I tend to see philosophers as people who are able to admit they don't know everything (but can still be confused, of course lol) while genuinely confused people often tend to claim to know everything and will defend that no matter what, even if they're completely wrong.

Outside of math there aren't a lot of certainties

Gorton and Hughes did say they weren't looking for "yes man".

Hopefully they acted accordingly.

St-Louis does look like a guy that wants to do his own thing.

I'd like to think so too, not even sure half a season is a fair sample size for a coach to prove themselves unless they're polarly great or awful and in the Habs case they were already polarly awful so how much worse could they get? Unless he's really successful in turning the team's performance around I think it'll be tough to judge his coaching the rest of the season

and even in that field there are probably debates going on between mathematicians concerning quantum theory or some other poop I could not even begin to understand.

Theoretical math is crazy...2 + 2 will always equal 4 was my simple point about certainties. We're all just data in the simulation anyway so who cares

I agree that even if he does well with the team from here till the end of the season there has to be a certain number of remaining question marks before handing him out a 3 or 5-year contract, based on what he'll have accomplished, given his lack of experience.

well, no. because at the end of the day the math has to prove the theory, pat.

The rest of the season is going to be a mess anyway, hopefully Gorton/Hughes can keep trading out vets for futures and prospects and MSL can get the most development out of the few players with a future in Montreal. I don't see evaluating either players or coaches on this year alone as being that easy though

pretty sure that formulas can get so complicated that it might take time before a consensus is reached among mathematicians, gramps, hence the discussions/debates...

Can we all talk about how stupid TMHID is and why he's wrong about the Habs hiring Vinny Chillcavalier to scout Florida? Florida has two of the best teams in the game, they're clearly doing something right and he's right there and never leaving...so he's in the perfect position to scout all of their moves! It's genius. He even goes to the same beaches Stamkos and Kucherov go to. Can you say "accidental Jack Eichel style food poisoning?!"
