Canucks thinking of hanging on to Miller?
TSN: Pierre LeBrun reports that the Vancouver Canucks may now be thinking to hold on to forward J.T. Miller, that they feel they don’t have to trade him.

“He’s got a year-and-a-half left on his deal and this notion that J.T. Miller’s worth is higher now than it would be this summer, the Canucks’ front office does not believe that. They feel they can get as much for him in the summer as they can now and by the way, maybe they’ll just sign him this summer, so all options are on the table.

Translation is this, if you’re the New York Rangers, or any other team, you have got to step up in a meaningful way to get the Canucks’ attention on J.T. Miller, or else they’re happy to keep him.”

I know some of you don't like Richardinson, but the guy is a pretty solid defensive forward. In the games that I have watched this season(14), small sample size, I know, but he has picked up his check coming through the neutral zone, eliminating a pass option, regularly, he has been very reliable in the defensive zone.
He sucks at being a faceoff guy.

He would be a good fit playing on an all-checking line/hard match up line, maybe a player like Michael McLeod would be a good player to play with him.

We are in a good position on Miller or any of them, no need to panic or make change just for the heck of it.

Canucks have every option with Miller. Keep him? He'll lead the team in points. Trade him? You can get a huge haul. No reason to rush to a decision.

Well, shots were 15-4, they had almost all the chances and they were up 2-0 by the end of that period. Obviously goal tending wasn't carrying them in the 1st.

Carol used the term "dominated". I agree...

- boonerbuck

I know she did, and up until the second goal went in, I thought the play was more even, even if the shot totals were lopsided. Just like in the final two periods I didn’t think the Sharks dominated, even though the shot total flip flopped.

Demko definitely would want that first short side goal back.

I didn’t say that at all. Just that it would be stupid to sell low when there are other, better options.

Subban is too slow now, fine on 3rd pair but anything more and you'll see him get burned by speedy offensive players

The one NJ dman who I've liked when I've seen them play is Jonas Siegenalther(sp?), plays a steady game and is good at moving the puck up the ice but he's young and cheap so they have no reason to move him

I agree, no rush to trade him. It might be best to wait til the summer and see what it would cost to resign him...unless a knock your socks off deal comes along that includes a young defenseman and a young forward.

I was asking vintsy, it’s his bad idea to keep Boeser. You want to trade the only two prospects we have. Hard pass

Why? Severson is more offensive minded than defensive. We already have Hughes, and Rathbone +Klimmer have serious potential. This is bad, even for you.
