Notes from game live:
Schenn is not playing well
Myers is a full joke
Petterson and Garland have played their asses off.
Hughes has played poorly, needs to be said hes made some serious gafs.

Should be playing with his brothers . He would be very good at shinny .

Either I jinxed Demko, or it just proved my point to how badly the team relies on him

7 points out and have to jump over 4 teams, most of which have games in hand. With the Canucks treading water and playing poop of late, doesn't seem too promising ATM

Is he moping because Green got fired or does he just not give a poop anymore?

“I expect more from myself.”
“I don’t want to use the word embarrassed, but that’s not good enough.”
“Unacceptable.”
“That’s on all of us, that’s on me.”
“We started getting down on ourselves.“

- selection of Bo Horvat quotes postgame. #Canucks

I like Bo, but I'm understanding the chatter more of question him/his place on the team. At a time like this you really nice your captain to find another gear, either with scoring or physicality or emotion.

He looks like he has gone for a skate in the park.
Sure doesn't seem like it takes much to get a lot of these players rattled and Bo is one them

Bruce Boudreau pleased with Pettersson’s energy and grit tonight but also uses a stat to comment on the rest of his lineup.

“When he's leading the team in hits you know there's a definite problem.”

215 pound captain nowhere to be seen

He probably told Podkolzin to settle down after he stepped up to defend Hog

That is what happens when you are trained by the Sedins.

Other than that defensive miscues on the 2nd goal, I thought Pouty had a real strong game

Good Bouds quotes:

“We all knew the importance of this game,” he said. “Edmonton is winning. LA is winning. We want to stay with the pack. … So I mean, to not come up with that sense of urgency is bothersome.”

“It’s a woe-is-me mentality. It’s not a tough, ‘let’s get out of this thing’ mentality and if you have a woe is me mentality, ‘oh, here we go again,’ like you’re Eeyore or Winnie the Pooh for crying out loud, we’re not going to get anywhere. So that mentality has to change. And if it hasn’t changed today, it had better change tomorrow.”

“I think it’s pretty obvious that Anaheim was way more of a desperate team,” Boudreau said of his team’s mediocre start. And the trend is worrying. His team had managed to rebound in games after giving up early goals but over the past 10 days or so, that’s not been the case.

“We won the last two games, but we didn’t play great. So we’re trending in the wrong direction. The Islander game we allowed five goals in the first period, not a good sign. And so I mean, the habits that they might have had earlier are creeping in because we gave up seven goals tonight, we gave up four goals the other night (in San Jose), we could have given up a lot more to the Leafs whereas in the previous games before the the Islander game, I mean, it was one and done or two at the most and if we were ever going to succeed, that’s what we have to do.”

“This is the time you got to make hay,” he added. “We can’t sit there and say ‘oh geez, we’ve been playing pretty good and we lose a game.’ We can’t afford to do that though. That’s our own fault for the first 25 games of the year. And so we put ourselves in this in this position where we have to play good every game and certainly we’ll see the guys that come to play every night that it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to see that.”

“I thought he played hard, really hard tonight,” the coach said of Pettersson. “But when he’s leading the team in hits, you know, there’s a definite problem. He was taking no prisoners and I mean, definitely positive thing.”

(Technically Luke Schenn had the most hits on the team with eight, but Pettersson had the second-most and the most amongst the forwards.)

“I loved what Podkolzin did and you know the Lammikko line never gets out worked.”

Ya nah man. The Sedins weren't bruisers, but they much more often than not brought their game and won games for the team. They were mentally on it, and Hank was a good captain IMO.

There's something off with the makeup of the team, the bad starts and the lazy effort are a huge mental component.

I don't use winkyface.

I agree, there is something wrong with the makeup of this team.

Not enough team speed & need the vets to lead the way. The kids are not the problem & the Lammi line is doing just fine.
