It’s international drink wine day.
I’ve got a couple Tuscans lined up. Chianti Classico and Vernaccia di San Gimignano - 1970vintage
Really? Sweet, I guess I’ll break out a nice cigar and a $100 bottle of red wine tonight. Dinner should be an epic Friday night dinner complements of my wife. |

Large population base and growing rapidly dip sh!t - CanuckDon
You don’t have to call people names to get your point across, it’s more fun, but unnecessary lol. |

Portland is 1/3 of the population of Phoenix and I doubt players would want to live there. - CanuckDon
Ya, I am sure the NBA players are complaining about playing in Portland making millions of dollars per year. |

What report? Perhaps you should visit Arizona before saying stupid sh!t - CanuckDon
Saying stupid poop is kind of his thing, not the sharpest knife in the drawer, that’s for sure |

The city is in a desert of bath salts. It would be named Bath Salt City if it were not for the problem of confusing it for Salt lake City in Utah. - boonerbuck
I see it like Palm Springs where my parents when alive went.
Great retirement for affluent ppl but very racist towards Hispanics. It’s easy enough to insulate & avoid the reality of lots going on there. Aka oblivion |

Total sidenote, but it would be interesting to see who on here hated that trade at the time and compare that to their current thoughts on JTM. - dbot
I liked it but I had nervousness also. |

I just finished lunch 20 mins ago, smoked salmon, cream cheese and red onion on rye bread, probably have the same for dinner if I eat dinner. - A_SteamingLombardi
MMmm... I'd like it on a Bagel but still that makes my mouth water.

The metro population of Palm Springs is 480,000 people, the metro population of Phoenix is over 5 million, yeah they’re pretty much the same. |

Miller fetches a huge return or not considered to be traded.
Everything is exploratory during the assessment phase leading up to the TDL. I’m fairly sure JR has a good feel by now. PA is catching up. Other hires are putting in the work to bring it all together. It’s a process that will lead to moves in due time. - Nighthawk
Nothing you've said shows me that JR has said anything about Miller being available. You are taking the media buzz and sticking Rutherford's name on it. Also, the idea that he's considered a target for reducing cap makes no sense.

Common sense, we’re a hockey nation. Hockey is a niche sport in the USA and always will be unless said city has a contending team. - LeftCoaster
Everything is a niche sport that isn’t American or made in America. College football was bigger than pros til the AFL/NFL merger turned the tide. Basketball was behind hockey til the ABA/NBA merger. It’s all about hype & capitalism. The SuperBowl is the classic example. It’s not like it is always the best against or nothing more than just 1 more game. Grey Cup parties here were the big thing way before the NFL became mainstream relevant. Best sporting events stand on their own merit eg World Cup. |

Everyone hated it right away when announced . After an hour most came around and many b1tched about it for years for one reason or another but mostly because of the timing of the franchise. - VANTEL
Not I. Most ppl complained they thought TB would just give JTM away for cap reasons & JB screwed up. No basis. |

Now it'll just be relocation's going forward.

Yeah but what if they flip him for better futures than what they got him for.
The classic buy low/sell high scenario.
Surely that's considered a win too, no? - dbot
Then we could watch a Steve Dangle trade tree 👍👍 |

I guess it would depend on what it is. If it’s a first round pick, then no. If it’s a player younger than Miller, entering the NHL now with huge potential upside, then I guess it’s a win. - 1970vintage
If the Rags Laf & Schneider
Avs Newhook
Other teams maybe but the entire package will be the decider. |

A few years back, I worked with several guys from Portland, huge hockey fans.
They told me they would easily get 15 000 per game, on a bad day - Reubenkincade
The Buckaroos the forerunners. |
