Asplund, Kisakov/Poltapov, VGK or FLA first rounder would be my pitch - Pegullaville
I feel like that wouldn't be enough as they'd likely want a higher quality forward or defense prospect.
I don't think Rosen would be enough of an upgrade over the 2 you mentioned.
I could definitely be way off though. |

Buchnevich went for a 2nd rounder, Reinhart for Levi and a first, Toffoli for a first and a third and a no name prospect.
I guess Boeser is an RFA, and if he’s dealt in the summer when more teams can make that kind of move, then maybe he gets more than all of the aforementioned. I doubt by much though. |

Sorry about your car. For all the years I lived in the Arab world and the amount of countires I went through (Iraq, Kuwait, Qutar, and the Emirates). They do a lot wrong. A lot. However, how they deal with thieves is not one of the things they do wrong. It's nice to walk around a massive urban area and have 0% of random crime happening. Pluses and minuses to everything. |

Canucks can’t take salary back. They are up to the tits on the cap.

If his upcoming pay day and teams having limited cap space shrinks the return needed, I'm all for it.
I gave the contract situation around Boeser in a prior post. |

Not to mention that Olofsson and Weissbach are spare parts in a deal for Boeser. |

So eat some of Olofsson's cap, still get cap relief |

How are they spare parts compared to Asplund and Kisakov and such |

Boeser is such a perfect fit in theory for us. It would be a move to tell the fans they're not tanking next season too. |

That was my point in the reply to Pegulaville.
Also, eating part of Olofsson's cap does them no good beyond this season, and a big part of the reason they'd be trading Boeser is not wanting to pay him.
What's Olofsson going to ask the ARB for, and get? |

The question is would Boeser be willing to sign long term with the Sabres? |

He's a 15-goal scorer when it all averages out over the last 3 seasons. He can be PP2 weapon. He can play 3rd line wing on most teams and not embarass himself.
3 million per and no more.
Edit: He's eminently replaceable by the Sabres unless he shows he's the same guy who started the season on fire. That guy was a solid 2nd line winger, and we could use him. The current Vic is just another 3rd line winger taking playing time fr younger, hungrier players in my system next season.
Sorry for Vic. I liked the Vic from the start of the year. Like him a lot.

It's going to cost $7.5M for next season to at least qualify Boeser, per his contract. |

It'll be interesting to see what he's awarded if he goes all the way with an ARB hearing. |

Maybe why Vancouver would take Olofsson, doubt he gets half that. |

I have no problem with that. We have the cap space and its a one year QO. It gives us another top 6 player and makes us (with a goalie) competitive for the final playoff spot. If it doesnt work out...bye bye.
But, it would be a big confidence builder for fans i think. He's a known, solid NHLer. Not some chump.
Im always ready to call them a playoff contender though. My head may explode when they make it.

Asplund fizzled lately but was one of our best players the first 20 games.
I wouldn’t consider him a spare part just because he’s having a down stretch. |
