Asplund fizzled lately but was one of our best players the first 20 games.
I wouldn’t consider him a spare part just because he’s having a down stretch. - Pegullaville
Just think Asplund and Olofsson are on par with each other, could keep them or trade them. |

I have no problem with that. We have the cap space and its a one year QO. It gives us another top 6 player and makes us (with a goalie) competitive for the final playoff spot. If it doesnt work out...bye bye.
But, it would be a big confidence builder for fans i think. He's a known, solid NHLer. Not some chump.
Im always ready to call them a playoff contender though. My head may explode when they make it. - lacaprup
Boeser has 2 seasons left before becoming a UFA.
If he takes a one year ARB deal and shows no interest in signing long term, you've got the Reinhart situation again where he'll be ARB eligible to go straight to UFA status.
So if you take a chance on trading for him with no knowledge of his interest in signing long term, the best time to trade him would be at next seasons trade deadline.
That means you've given up assets for .8 of a season overall while hoping to get some assets back in return.
That's not my favorite plan. |

It'll cost $3.25M to qualify Olofsson based on his current contract. - kingcong39

Do you think Asplund is moving the needle in a trade for a player like Boeser? I do not. |

About right - Buff36
If I were him and I fully believe this bad stretch is due to a lingering injury, I'd have no interest in signing a long term deal anywhere unless a team grossly overpaid, which I cannot see happening.
His road to contract riches is betting on himself having a big season next season and signing with a team as a UFA.
That or he could wind up being like Kahun...👀👀👀 |

Could happen, wouldn't mind looking at Garland either or Poolman |

Tsn reported that teams are calling on Miller, Haag and Eakin.

Might be able to land a second for Miller dependent upon his recovery while also retaining half his salary. Maybe a 4th for Hagg half salary retianed and a 5th for Eakin, half salary retained |

I haven't seen Cool Runnings since it was new. A viewing is order. Good ole John Candy - lacaprup
Sucks so much that he died so young. He was great.

It's 3, but that would mean Buffalo could not be a 3rd party in a trade where they would retain after the initial team does to allow a player like Giroux to end up on the Avalanche, as an example. |

If Pegula opens the peggy bank, they could take back plenty of poop cap back in a trade to further enhance the return too.
Retention is just one weapon at their disposal. |

I think when a team is moving a $7.5M forward that only a few teams in the league could really take on, they are really more focused on picks than anything regardless.
Asplund can be inserted in their bottom 6 tomorrow.
If they don’t like it, then so be it we can offer something else.
Just some Saturday morning banter.

Boeser is such a perfect fit in theory for us. It would be a move to tell the fans they're not tanking next season too. - lacaprup

Good thing on a Saturday afternoon with the best player in hockey playing at 4 PM the NH l's national television partner is all basketball today.
As long as the NHL doesn't respect itself no television network will respect it either. Everyone in America should have the option to watch Connor mcdavid today. |

For sure. If the NHL had a TV partner I'd be watching the games back to back to back today.
Give me OLN or VS. At least they liked having hockey. |
