The "best deal" has to be something that will help the Flyers otherwise no deal. - Scoob
Anything they get will help the Flyers versus the nothing they get when he signs with another team. He is not resigning with the Flyers. If he was that would already be done. If the best offer is a 2nd round pick, you take it.

He is surrounded by his crap teammates on a daily basis. Get that stuff in an eye and you get pink eye. Now hopefully they can scratch Atkinson with psoriasis and Sanheim with an ingrown toenail and the tank can roll on. |

I've gotta' think Nashville knew something was up with Ellis and chronic injuries before the trade... and I'm not talking about the broken finger. Or may even be a combination that he doesn't want to play for the Flyers (he always seemed in the press conferences that he hated being here) and his chronic injuries to just make him say, "Why bother."
Couldn't agree more about JvR. I'd love to see some kind of creative deadline trades where we retain half salary on JvR and ship him and a pick to the Kraken, while we take on some dead salary for a pending UFA from Tampa or Toronto or Colorado and get the same pick for doing so. I haven't been this anxious to pay someone not to play since Bryz. - therabbi
OF course they did. He has missed 22% of scheduled games due t injuries. chuckles got bent over by Poile |

Something is better than nothing. Try to push too hard and these teams are gonna move on to other options. Just make a reasonable deal ASAP, or Chuck is gonna get left holding his Richard.

That's only a couple more teams than usual. There are normally about 5 or 6 with at least one pro scout here. Some, like Dennis Bonvie (Bruins) and Kerry Huffman (Penguins) are here regularly. Mark Howe is now semi-retired but was here more games than not when he was scouting for the Red Wings.
So those "X teams are scouting the game" thing can sometimes be inflated/overblown.

I think Boston may end up being the destination. They are probably the most likely team to part with a 2023 draft pick as well as move a young Roster player like DeBrusk which would fulfill both needs Fletcher was after which was a young player ready to play as well as a 1st round pick in a deep draft. I think many teams may be reluctant to trade a 2023 1st and a 1st this year seems like it will likely lead to disappointment.
Only way I see Giroux going elsewhere is if a guy like Newhook, Byram, Barron, Jack Drury, Boldy, Rossi, Tippitt, Peronuvich, Kostin or Marchment are offered.
The ones hardest to acquire will be the ones currently in the NHL right now. It really comes down to how badly the acquiring team wants to win. Dont be surprised if Fletcher sacrifices a pick to try to land one of these guys. What a mean by that is taking something less than a 1st + the player
Like I said. I think BOS would be the favourite. |

Avs getting eastern conference beat down by Bruins. First time in my life I am rooting for Bruins. Avs need to be a little more desperate. Now a hatty by G and the trade will make itself, lol |

In my opinion, you are drastically overrating what the market will be for Giroux. I don't see teams giving up their best prospects for Giroux or any other playoff rental. |

Even when they outplay a team by a significant margin they can't win.
Half way to a third double digit losing streak. As pathetic as it gets. |
