His only noteworthy move of the season, unfortunately.

Hunt is my new favorite player, he gave a puck to my kids during the warmup before the game on Sunday, it was their first Ranger game.

I actually like Hunt on the 4th line. The Mckegg love fest is weird. Guy has a career high 11 points. Does nothing well really. Rather Baron for his faceoffs at least

this seems ominous for Chytil

Greetings from Rangers practice, folks. I’m back to work.

Rangers have assigned D Zac Jones to @WolfPackAHL

And there are changes in the line configurations:

20-93-13
10-16-29
17-21-75
14-47-72-15

- jimbro83

Chytil not getting a crack in the top 6 as a winger is a bit odd, especially if they’re going to showcase him.

True, but Hunt is the exact same. And somehow keeps getting put on the 2nd line. I have no idea how or why.

If Reaves didn't bring toughness and allow his teammates the ability to breathe easier he would be regarded similarly as Hunt and McKegg. That being said, I am really enjoying having Reaves here.

While that is his primary purpose, for a guy in his mid 30s he can still skate and get in on the forcheck pretty well. Also has ability to get shots on net. He is pretty much all you can ask for in a 4th line player.

That's probably more fair than I was saying. I meant more along the lines that Hunt/McKegg is getting played up in the lineup and I don't think Reaves would do much better than Hunt/McKegg. Though like you said maybe they should give it a try. Can't be any worse than Hunt.

I was mostly being sarcastic with Reaves in the top 6. But right now with no one else why not

I know, but I agree I am so tired of seeing Hunt get a shot there.

I know I over simplify things when it comes to picking up players and matching up lines… in an almost Billy Beane kind of way. However I genuinely believe line chemistry and flow is much easier to predict.

Assuming we work from what we have next year and the pieces we would be willing to move…

Goodrow, ______, Blais
_____, Barron, Reaves

That 3C slot is a major piece that needs to be filled and I would prefer to fill it with a non-rental.

Kreider and Wilson were all joking and laughing at the all star game. I think that drama is over
