agreed, like I said previously, I don't care much if they finish dead last or 30th, 31th... I'm not even sure Wright would be their man. - fidopro
I'm starting to come around more and more to this thought on Wright but I've been told by people who watch more junior than I do that those concerns are overblown. Gotta say I'd prefer more of a sure thing at the top like there is next year |

there are many more dipping sauces than there used to be. when i was a kid we had sweet & sour, bbq, mustard, or a little tray of honey if you were weird.
kids today don't know how good they have it. when i was real young we had to get up to change the channel on the tv too.

I guess lists between teams at the bottom could vary, if the habs pick 2nd for example but the guy they wanted gets picked #1, they could still end up with Wright lol |

Shane Wright will get picked first.
They do this every year, try and make people wonder if maybe the guy who was projected first overall in his draft year for almost 3 years might suddently drop because they found some flaw in his game.
It almost never happens.

when i was a tot i remember some people still had TVs with no remote. and they'd opt for no cable! there were like 10 channels total and an antenna on top of the tv. |

you're right that the projected #1 pick is 99% of the time the player that actually gets picked. it might just be propaganda to try and fool other teams...

we've seen how Gorton and Hughes like to think outside the box. don't be surprised if they leave Wright on the board and pick someone else lol. |

well as long as they're not taking outside-the-box decisions just for the sole purpose of being outside the box... hey look at us, we're cool man, we don't think like others! |

This may sound odd coming from me but until they give you reason to question their process in drafting there's no reason to question their process in drafting.
The previous regime had a drafting process that was worth questioning. |

Hughes was pretty clear. he wants to build a team with speed and character. does Wright has these qualities? I don't know. maybe an other prospect fits the bill better than him in their eyes. |

oh for sure, I have a good feeling about where they're heading with this team, I doubt they'd be dumb enough to take decisions just make them look special lol

First trade checked a lot of boxes.
High pick: Check
B prospect: Check
Unload salary and term (Pitlick's UFA afer the season): Check
Trade a player who while useful now likely won't be by the time the Habs are ready to compete: Check
So the first trade was a good start in my view |

whatever the outcome is I'm confident this draft in MTL will be better this time around...

Am I too late to pick someone and say he's female doging about something? I need a bit of leisure time in my workday? |

my grandfather used to watch the phillies on a tiny tv like that. the remote was corded and made loud clicking sounds, you sat it on a table or your lap like a keyboard.

Wright is on fire and playing like he should. The year off really (frank)ed him and the other OHL draft prospects |

yeah, I kinda hoped another player would be leaving instead of Toffoli but I'm not against the trade at all, I also consider it as a sound decision.
