Wright is on fire and playing like he should. The year off really (frank)ed him and the other OHL draft prospects - AdamFrench
Agreed.... all this talk now of him maybe not being the top pick, yet this last month he is tearing it up. If he goes first or not, I wouldn't hesitate to take him. |

yeah, I kinda hoped another player would be leaving instead of Toffoli but I'm not against the trade at all, I also consider it as a sound decision. - Pat1993
I liked TT and clearly the locker room did too. He seemed to take it hard but unfortunately when you're as bad as the Habs have been this year a lot of unexpected hard choices get forced. From an emotionless team building perspective it's a move that should make the Habs better in the long run and that needs to be the main calculation so, like I said, I liked the first trade |

agreed, which is why I adopted a "it sucks but I get it" approach. and at least he was traded to a different conference lol

This is almost word for word what I've been told. I think it's more a fear of/not used to potentially having nice things impacting my thoughts on it - Takemedrunkimhome
Watched him and the Fronts (frank)ing torch my 67's. That Tyler Boucher kid that Dorion selected really looks like sludge out there. Might be his worst selection as a GM/Scout...but it's early. |

I remember spatso pushing Laine over Matthews like he was trying to unload real estate built on swamp land - Takemedrunkimhome
and I remember some pushing ( well trying to) Malkin over Ovy |

And a good situation for him both personally and from a winning perspective |

Good to hear. Now do the hawt take pro player comparison (sorry NFL draft season starting so every prospect has to be compared to an all pro or HoFer) |

First trade checked a lot of boxes.
High pick: Check
B prospect: Check
Unload salary and term (Pitlick's UFA afer the season): Check
Trade a player who while useful now likely won't be by the time the Habs are ready to compete: Check
So the first trade was a good start in my view - Takemedrunkimhome
Would not be surprised if they try to unload Byron too
oh, did Armia die to, he wasnt there last night... |

It's honestly a hard one. People love a Bergeron comp because Wright is a very simple style player with amazing awareness and defensively strong for his age...but that's not the kind of real comp possible. He's a lot like Tavares to be honest, better skater, not as good in front of the net. |

Ok but even looking back I kinda get it. Big C vs big W...harder to find the C. Plus it's two MVPs and Conn winners who will be HoFers. Matthews vs Laine it's Matthews who is both the big C and hands down the better player.
Either way you're right, there's always another guy. I think I remember Crosby's year they tried half heartedly to push Gilbert Brule for a bit |

I like Byron and would also happily move him. Armia and his contract feel like an anchor that'll be tough to unload |

Just one after this. He may be good to hang on to until next trade deadline and trade then for max value while utilizing his leadership and vet influence can be kept for a bit |

1st overall comps are always the hardest. I think my favourite is how everybody and their mom who is 5'11 and a good player is compared to JOE (frank)ING SAKIC. |
