D depth is not there but the F’s need to play harder/smarter D.
- Nighthawk

I’m genuinely curious as to how they’ll deal with this. If Muzzin is truly out something big will happen.

Watching the sharks vs ducks game… Reimer had to get a new non-painted mask on… I don’t know why but it seems a touch odd lol

Uh?
No we dont need a klingberg type, need a defensive D type.

I believe Elliott had said the leafs were in on him but the cost was too high. A 1st round pick and prospect and that Dubas doesn't want to pay a 1st for a pure rental.

Great bang for your buck bottom 6. But it’s missing a play driver.

I think Mikheyev is great but I really think the Leafs would be a much more dangerous team if they could add a top 6 player and shuffle everyone down and bump Simmer to 13th forward.

I don't disagree. But there are clearly needs on the back end too. Our salary structure simply makes filling out this roster with proper balance virtually impossible.

I don't disagree but, unfortunately, Kerfoot is probably the piece you need to deal to bring back an impact Top 6 player (e.g. JT Miller).

With Muzzin out we're effectively a team that has a top pairing and two bottom pairings. The team definitely needs 1 or 2 d-men.

I was all-in before bringing in a top flight Top 6 C/LW but it's pretty clear now where the needs are.

I think it was underhill or Monkey that had an analytics comparison of the two, and apparently a move of Kerfoot + for Miller didnt improve the leafs overall analytically.
It was good write up.

The Leafs rank 31st in 5-on-5 save percentage since Dec. 1st.

I don't need to read an analytics comparison to know that JT Miller would be a vast improvement on Kerfoot.

The fun thing about analytics is that they can be easily put into a grinder to feed a particular narrative.

True, they could, just saying it was good write up.

But now that I think about it, it may have been Giroux it was about and not miller.

Poor kid. Get him to Canada and get him cared for here before his countries medical system is consumed with war.

I'd submit that we've been that ALL year. We've been winning in spite of that poopty 2nd pairing.

If Dubas wants to win in the playoffs he has to fix the Holl and the Muzzin problem unless he feels like a month or two off is going to fix the Muzzin problem.
