Ristolainen is literally an expensive Holl. - GreatGigInTheSky
kinda true ... but always a little false.
at least Risto has proven and is willing to play physical and be a douche bag....
he's also at the end of the big contract - and he knows he ain't getting 5M plus for term for anyone unless he does something meaningful... that opportunity to might make him focus the remainder of the season.
he's also never really played on a decent team - those early years in Buffalo he was awful but so was the team around him
I think it would be a good risk to take - and the Leafs would have the CAP now that Muzz in going to go on LITR.
Holl's not a tiny guy... but plays completely soft. Him getting crunched by Suziki last night should have been a wake up call

He's a douchebag alright, but he's only ever tough when he's pushing guys from behind and when the linesmen get in between them.
He's too scarred to man up and do it to their faces.
Not at all the guy the Leafs need. |

Fans back in the building for the first time in months, a nice victory against a rival team...
Why wouldn't they sign? It was great! - Scabeh it was good to see some fans back in the building last night... when are they slated to go up in capacity?

We just needed a little break after going to the finals.
We'll be back sooner than alot of people think.
Lots of faith in Gorton/Hughes/St-Louis
- Scabeh
Gorton is very good, anyone dreaming that this rebuild will not be painful needs to look at the current roster.
All of Hoffman, Gallagher, Petry, Anderson and Suzuki have combined for 91 points after 51 games. Add Carey Price to that mix and you have salary of $41.25M all with term and only Anderson and Suzuki are players you can say are going into their prime. That's alot of baggage to unload. To trade anyone in that group. you are talking about retaining salary except maybe Anderson IMO.

I don't know... I'd take that level of "truculence" over what the Leafs have now - don't get me wrong I'd rather have a guy who's Mark Fraser tendencies... but those don't exist any more.

Love the new no renewal sticker. I haven’t replaced mine since pre covid. I was suppose to renew about a month after the pandemic hit but then they put it on pause. Both vehicles are in my name so I would’ve owed around $600 to renew for the 3 years. - bryant
What's this? I think I got taken for a ride. I re-upped for 23. |

I think mid-march or something like that.
I've been holding out to bringing my son to a game until it was a full crowd... wanted him to live the full experience.

Gallagher is 29, I think we could agree has pretty high mileage and on pace to score about 27 points and will make $6.5M for five years beyond this one. If that's the heart and sould of your team, you're (frank)ed. |

I don't take any individual results this season as "the norm" for these players.
Petry will bounce back and gain some value, Hoffman can still score... and he's only signed for 2 more years at 4.5M.
Anderson and Suzuki are part of that rebuild, no doubt in my mind.
Price is a big question mark right now, we'll see how he goes but I don't mind if he comes back and be his amazing self again.
Gallagher is one I'm worried about... he does look pretty banged up for 6 more years... we might be stuck with him and accept he's overpaid for what he can still do. We'll see.
Add to that a pretty interesting pile of prospects, another high pick this year.... that rebuild could go faster than you think.
Of course it could also go terribly wrong, it's all on the drafting and developing teams.

Gavrikov would be a really nice add -- especially with Muzzin out.
Domi I'm still processing. - mjones242
I am surprised no media guys talk about Gavrikov this TDL. I don't know if its because he is on CBJ or what, probably one of the least known legit top 4 D in the NHL.
Domi 50% retained would be nice.
I like the idea of a TDL deal where the Leafs get a player with term+ a rental. |

Is it official now? I was supposed to renew in January (got a letter about them opening back up and starting again). But then I had heard Ford's promise so I held off.
I can now drive free of conern?!
