I honestly don’t see why not. Let the guy try and heal. It’s not a broken wrist where you have 6-8 week timeline. Probably better for both parties if he takes his time coming back.

33, having an injured back issue before the concussions, then the concussions? I don't think he comes back a spring chicken like a 27 year old top 5 forward in the NHL.

I am thinking it could be season+playoffs and reevaluate next season to see if he wants to keep playing.
