That’s terrible lol

I watch a disgusting glutinous amount of hockey each night and the refs are brutal for every team in every game - but with you guys it’s just a tad bit more ridiculous. For whatever reason the Leafs get burned obvious non calls or ridiculous bad calls.
I have a buddy who reffed a bit in the AHL amd he was saying that psychologically (at least at the time he was officiating) there were a large number of refs from Ontario who obviously grew up Leafs fans and never wanted to seem or act on bias even as adult professionals and being human beings they may have over compensated by being a bit harder on the Leafs to not look like ‘homers’. It was just his theory.

I believe in this theory.

I’m not a fan of moving those two young guys. However now that Rielly is long term a puck mover like Sandin might be able to go. My god keep Liljegren tho… he’s only a rookie but that guy will end up being one solid shutdown defender.

that's my preference as well.. and quite frankly in my opinion Liljegren looks much more mature than Sandin at this point - he's physically stronger and quite a bit faster from a pure skating perspective.

I'd be fine with them moving Sandin as part of a deal for Chychryn or someone mid-to-upper end.. rather than keeping him and have him kind of not develop behind Rielly.

Or go even up for another team's RFA who's perhaps got more of physical element to his game - if that team needs a puckmover.

Ya I mean it does make sense from a psychological standpoint anyways.
He equated it to coaching your son in puck. You are almost quicker to bench him or chirp and single him out cause you don’t want to look like you’re playing favourites
