yes. he thought it was good at first because it shot webs without cartridges and he only had to think about to get in or out of the suit.
circumstances eventually changed.
this was in 1984! people don't think he's been around that long. |

seriously though, did Spider-Man always have cartridges? I thought his web-slinging abilities were part of his super powers... sorry for my lack of Marvel universe knowledge lol

he created his web shooters himself. they're like bracelets around his wrists, that's why he has to make the weird hand gesture to shoot them, his middle 2 fingers were pressing a button on the palm of his hand. |
