Giroux could certainly help out on the dot. Let the bidding war commence

If Giroux says he’ll only go to the Avs,it will be fun to watch Sakic or is it Salic bid against himself.

If Giroux say it’s only the Avs then Philly fans are going to be really upset when they don’t get that first round pick and two prospects price. Salic won’t be paying that.

So MAF to the Avs isn't happening anymore? Kuemper needed to go 21-2-2 to realize maybe he's not the problem?

Will you or Ek provide an update on Shawn Matthias? He's still on the rumour chart. Maybe if the Avs don't get Clurtterbuck they could look at Matthias. Perhaps for a 4th or 5th round pick?

I like to see BLUES go after Chara & Clutterbuck bring in some tough hit-machine monsters to add to the Bluenote for the playoff run

There's no emoji adequate to capture the humor in this.

Maybe next they'll realize that Salic usually doesn't make the obvious trade. Perhaps one of the two guys here might have expended the effort to watch Quoteless Joe's mid-season press availability a couple weeks ago where, in a rare bit of candor. he came right out and said he's probably going to make a 'hockey trade.' *** Nah - it's a lot easier just to regurgitate what Josh Yohe has now said twice in The Athletic about Kapanen to Vancouver.

*** For those unfamiliar, that's GM speak for longer-term/strategic move rather than short-term/rental/tactical move.

Then Sakic doesnt get Giroux. Giroux wants to win and hes been loyal to the Flyers. Hes not going to do anything similar to Hall last TDL. There are a ton of teans interested. I dont understand why you use the Habs as an example. Giroux destinations are going to be contenders

Avs got autocorrected to Habs for some reason.

Flyers fans will be disappointed in the return.

Yeah that’s some real insider info from Kevin there knowing he’s coming out of retirement at the deadline.

I don't even see Matthias playing in Europe or anywhere else. He seems to have simply stopped playing the sport 5 years ago. Which might be the last time these guys watched a Jets game....

Remember when Hall, 28 years old and 2 years removed from a Hart Trophy didn't get the 2 1st's, young Top 6 forward or Top 4 D and 1st round drafted prospect plus other prospects that NJ fans were all up and hard about the Devils getting back? Instead they got a 1st, a 3rd and a bunch of assorted crap that still hasn't done anything in the NHL 3 years later. For a 28 year old 2 years off a Hart.

But a few months of 34 year old Claude Giroux is going to reap untold riches. GM's, faced with the prospect of their UFA walking for nothing in return, tend to get a little bit more reasonable in their demands than much of their fanbase. It happens every year and people still don't seem to notice.

Jack freaking Eichel (an elite, 25 y/o right shot center) and a 3rd returned a 1st, a 2nd, Krebs and Tuch...

A real hockey insider like Eklund knows where he's playing. You all are just not paying attention.

He’s still a pos. A pos that plays hockey pretty well. He’s kept a low profile this season which was his problem before.

And that doesn’t make me a socialist. I’m far from it.

The Habs have turned into a juggernaut recently. That goalie Ricardo Montalban has been lights out too.

True, Monty has looked great. Everything falling into place with Marty although they need to stop winning, they're going to (frank) up our draft placing.

Hall was sucking ass when the Devils traded him to the salary dump center of the NHL universe. Eichel was still an injury risk and basically forced the Sabres to move him. So both analogies really don't fit the Giroux situation. Since Sakic has no first or second this year I think the Flyers would be moving him elsewhere because Sakic won't or shouldn't be moving the Newhooks or Byrams.

Canes took a risk with Tony D and it paid off. I think they should take another risk to get Evander from the Oil. Convert him from forward to defense like Minny and SJ did with Burns. Then you have a physical d man with offensive skill to replace Tony D.

Giroux will get a late 1st or similar prospect, along with a 2nd or 3rd or some B level prospect. Anyone thinking about two 1sts and a young roster player is thinking like the Buzztron.
