That's a lot, but Scheifele is very good player a second from them and a third from us

Why would Miller want to go to an inferior team?

18-7-4

While I know you are being sarcastic, he wouldn’t and they shouldn’t want him. The Rangers are pretenders and don’t seem like a good spot for JT. they shouldn’t be buyers imo

I believe Benning caved to the media pressure last offseason, the calls from people like Drance, Dhaliwal, and others to resign, Green were none stop and relentless.
Green was portrayed as an in demand "good" coach who was never given enough.
Where are those loud mouthed media now?
TG was not an NHL caliber coach, and it has done lasting damage to this franchise, letting him cut and essentially waive players from our depth

Even days before Green was fired, I listened to a game where Brendan Bachelor and Corey Hirsh were saying that "if Green got fired, he would immediately have a job. He is a excellent coach and it's the players he's been given, not him." Also at the time listening to 650 briefly here and there in the day while driving, similar crap.

None of them own it as far as I've heard/seen. They just jumped immediately to how great BB is. They criticize the way Green coached now but no one in the media talks about how bad they were mistaken. The really should because they influence opinion a lot more than they are willing to admit.

This line up isn't a world beater clearly but it can't be denied that these players have in them something Green and Co were no longer able to tap into, if ever. When we see just how open minded Bruce is to what types of players can be matched into lines and it shows results... you think back and it's obvious. Green was incredibly bad for pigeon holing players. To his own demise eventually.

Or maybe it's just that they're getting hot playing mostly similar competition and getting hot at the right time to beat better teams then them. I don't believe this team is good enough as constructed and I think this hot streak isn't sustainable. Demko is going to wear out REALLY quick at this rate and I wouldn't trust Halak to be able to hold the fort for more than a game or two if Demko needs a week or so to rest and recover.

Demko isn't getting overplayed. This team has had a lot of days off between games since Xmas. He was also out on protocol(with no symptoms). Bruce hasn't played him in back to backs. I expect Halak tomorrow. Only some of Demko's games has he faced an unreasonable amount of shots. There's a difference in being outshot and bombarded.

Demko's fine at this pace.

The beauty of having a boring Swedish GM is you don't need to listen to Vancouver media anymore

Podkolzin played right until the buzzer sounded at the end of the third period. Bruce Boudreau has developed a different level of trust for Podkolzin compared to, say, Nils Höglander, who didn’t see the ice at all for the final 7:35 of the game.

“He plays physical and he’s hard on the puck and sometimes we have a tendency to have guys not hard on the puck,” Boudreau explained. “He’s big and strong and you need that late in the game when you’re winning because you need to win the board battles and he’s getting better at it all the time.

“I use him because he’s going to be a really good player and I want to give him confidence, and he’s earned it as well.”

I would resign Miller, player depending, and look to get max return for Horvat. Give Miller the C and with the players added from the Horvat trade, compete for the next 5 yrs

Checks standings. Hmmmm. Those Canuck prospects doing well, I can see the excitement building. Anytime you can beat the top team in your division it seems like a cup victory!
Probably the refs fault.

That's awesome, and true. Podkolzin had a nice game and has played well since his visit to the pressbox.

Markstrom has been to the playoffs exactly once. He's actually never lost a series since he got hurt vs Vegas.
