Not much more to be said.
Coach is a weeny who is gonna stubbornly do it "his way" until the 1990's style fail catches up with him and he gets fired. But seriously. Out maneuvered by a guy who's coached no higher than pee-wee says it all. It validates all the fan complaints and criticism. It suggests that I....yes ME....could get behind that bench and play those lines better than him. I've been running the same 2 pairs of defense all year in my pee wee C house team. Chemistry, strengths, weaknesses, I identified early. Bam. I have competent defense.

And I have been bullish on Colin White. I'm not saying he'll ever live up to his contract, but I don't think he'll be far off. But instead of pumping his tires lets rip him again. And I'll call out bozo Simmer on the team. "oh I wasn't really watching him". Of course you weren't. But no doubt when he has a give away in his third or fourth game back on a very difficult road trip Simmer will be ALL OVER White and fire up the engines on the "Buy Out Colin White" train.

Outsider here, but serious question here. So how does this coach keep his job? No expectations? Once the Sens have expectations there is no way he keeps his job. He never outcoaches another coach to claim a win but does this coach keep his job because your team has the cheapest owner in pro sports?

^^^^^^that is a very good point^^^^^^

Additionally on MDZ...wouldn't it be a GOOD thing to have him get plucked off waivers to get that next 2m$ season off the books?

This guy was average in CLB last year, but then gets a 2 year deal as an aging defenseman. I didn't realize this guy was in the AHL, holy liften. The cheapest owner in sports has a guy in the AHL making 2 mil per year, stop the presses.

Buying out White would be really dumb, he is the first of the new crop of players to sign long term with OTT showing commitment to a team that was rebuilding, and there are 2 other players on Sens far more deserving of a buyout than White, Zeitsev and Murray.

Let me get this straight, Murray is given starter money by Ottawa but has never started more than 50 games in a season. Injury prone and a head case in Pittsburgh, in fact he was called out by many teammates during the Pens last Cup run as being soft and a diva. This was talked about in Pittsburgh message board circles how he was a locker room problem. Now Sens fans are thinking he should be bought out. Ask any Pens fan before Ottawa signed him to that ridiculous contract and they would have said, they would take anything for him to get him out of Pittsburgh. What team trades away a goalie in their prime unless he has serious off ice problems?

Unless LB performed total gangbusters I suspected this was STL's plan all along. Even if he picks up his game and goes ppg those last 12 games, dollars to donuts they make him a healthy scratch to get the pick. Why not? It'll probably be in the top 100.

GM Armstrong said the plan was to bring him up sometime in the new year (maybe after 30-40 AHL games) but they were forced to bring him up much sooner. They've already signed him to a 1way contract for next year and Berube has him slotted in the top 9 so they must like him. The team is playing well and injury free (Sundquist out 4th line doesn't look serious) so I'm not surprised that they're sticking to the plan of 29 games and Sens 4th round pick.

That's the problem, he isn't a top 9 on this team! I don't know how they can look ahead to next year with the view that he'll be top 9 when he can't even crack the 12 forwards now.
