For me, signing Armia to that contract was one of Bergevin's biggest mistake. He chose him before Lehkonen and there is not much choice now but to trade the one who can bring something back. We can't have Byron, Armia and Lehk playing in the bottom 6 for 3M+ each next year (and some might argue that Byron and Armia will play on the IR...). But as Lehk is a RFA, Hugues has to get a good reward, like you said, a 1st and a prospect would be great.

Lehky is so popular and he’s a hard worker but I don’t see him coming back and so they should try and get a high pick and a top prospect if they can… but only if they can.

This is the highest Lehkonen's value has ever been. More than likely the highest it ever will be. He'll want 3.5M on his next deal. If I can get a first for him by some sucker he's gone.

Lehks should always have been a 40 point guy but was held back by years of horrible systems; like all Habs. We are seeing him play now as he should have been this whole time. That being said, this is exactly why you need to deal him. Our issue has never been gritty depth scoring. It's been top line talent. He needs to go so the pieces that are gonna get us that talent come in.
