True, but the Canucks only play 10 more games before the deadline. I think things would really have to go south fast for them to consider making any major trades. - NorthNuck
There was a piece the other day on Sportsnet I think about Allvin wanting to see consistency from the team on this road trip.
I think if they go win-loss-win-loss kind of thing before the TDL, I could see him selling some players off. |

They can trade Boeser for cap space and be unaffected. Two must trades = Motte + Boeser |

They are pretenders. Terrible 5V5 team propped up by goaltending. They should be buyers like we should be buyers. Hence why i said they won’t make a big pitch for Miller unless their GM is an idiot! Let’s hope he is. But let’s get serious, we aren’t trading miller - CanuckDon
They shouldn't, but most GMs are pretty short-sighted when it comes to the playoffs, so we can hope. |

Awesome Miller getting 2nd star of the week, we’ll done. It’s not 1st star like Markstrom was 2 weeks ago, and Lindholm last week, still an accomplishment non the less. Maybe next week it will feature a Canuck as the 1st star.
I wouldn’t expect any trades this year, maybe in the off season. With the Oilers falling out and the Ducks losing ground, Canucks have a good chance of squeaking in. Just got to keep the pace and hope Dallas drops a bit. |

8 years at almost 8 million per for a player who is hitting 30, kinda goes against everything you have been saying for several years. - Reubenkincade
True, let’s do the Scheifele deal instead |

I would say it is a push but gives cap relief in the end . Severson would be an upgrade over Poolman but you lose Boeser who has many different opinions on social media about his skill level.
I think Boeser is a good two way player who will get you 20 + goals but is not a 7 .5 mil value.

Another former Rocket defenceman to go with Schenn, Myers, Bowery. Maybe Alvin can try to aquire Barrie from the Oilers when they become sellers at the trade deadline. |

If Alvin pulls the trigger on that trade then I’d say we are right back into Jim Benning type management. |

I couldn't care less where he played Jr. but it is amusing that you point that out as the Flames continuously scoop up ex Canucks that have won nothing.

I don’t like what I’ve been reading about Zacha from Devils fans. Sounds like the type of player that is more of a placeholder and someone you end up wanting to upgrade on.

Former season ticket holder for the Rockets til I retired for the winters. Still have a lot of fond memories of those guys. Plus Kelowna Rockets are famous for their contribution on NHL roster.
Kieth, Weber, Gorges, Hannan, Edler list goes on. |

Demko will win his fair share. Just think Treliving went off the wall and took Mason MacDonald 3 spots ahead instead. |

Probably tried peaking at Benning’s list again and only “goalie” was visible so he took a guess.

I already think they are there.
I don't think there are any magic ways to fix the roster and GMs eventually turn to what has worked for years. I think they will turn to buyouts and using assets to move players. There are only so many solutions.
Ask yourself if you were GM would you sign Boeser for 7.5 mil
Ask yourself if you were GM would you give up good assets to trade for Boeser?
So what do you do? |

Bruce on the idea of trading Miller:
“If we got McDavid in return I’d say it’s okay,” said Boudreau with a laugh when asked about how much losing Miller would affect his team. “We don’t even talk about it, I haven’t talked one iota about J.T. getting traded. He’s the cornerstone right now — one of the cornerstones of our team, so we just go on. To me, that’s all noise. It makes for great media, and I love reading it all when they talk about trade deadline stuff, but nobody’s talked to me about anything.” |

We will get a better handle on Zacha during tonight's game, yes I realize it is only 1 game, but at least we can focus on him, as fans tend to focus only on points.
As you know, some fans aren't very reliable as talent assessors. |
