What are you realistically going to get in return for those players though? Unless the new regime is going to turn water into wine.

Okay, that doesn't really mean anything....?

Are the Canucks the team coming up, with their elite prospect pool? The one every ranking has in the lower quarter of the league? Are the back-to-back Cup champs on the way down?

Constructive comment though, that had absolutely nothing to do with drafted players on the roster over a certain time period.

Having drafted players on your team to me has very little with actual drafting ability.

Jim Benning has 18 players from his draft years to have played in NHL games so far. I guess you could just keep all your draft picks and not do anything else a GM does.

It must equal success if the back to back cup champs did it that way.

Him taking about players not being ready to start games, how being an NHL player is hard, and you have to prepare yourself in practice, every day. I’m reading between the lines a bit, but he seemed concerned that there were maybe some passengers who weren’t working hard enough to.

Miller was screaming they don't know what they are doing not long ago.

I’m an outsider but if I was Gm in Van if the team is out of the playoffs at the deadline I trade Boeser and Horvat for whatever the best offer is. Then in the summer explore a blockbuster deal for Pouty. He’s not a heart and soul guy that will carry the team. Keep Miller, Garland, Demko, Hughes happy. Have a great draft with multiple first rounders in a deep draft. Sign a UFA vet for a team friendly deal. In a few years thing look pretty good.

Under Green, and in response to a drill they were doing. Stop pulling media BS and taking minor pieces of info and using them to prove a point that they have nothing to do with. It's pathetic.

I mean, I don't agree at all with that? Having good drafting abilities leads to having drafted players on your NHL team. What other way is there? lol Why spend all your time ranking prospects and arguing over who should have been drafted if it doesn't matter.

By "anything else a GM does" do you mean trades and signings? Cause JB was pretty bad at that too. Probably worse than his actual drafting.

More success than the way JB had done it, that's for sure

Your response to my sarcastic joke is what's pathetic here.

I'm digging into playoff odds and pondering the Halak situation, in the new blog...

No , our fans really are that stupid.

There’s one serious Benning slurper that posts on here every day. You guys know who he is. He’d be the president of that club you’re referring to. We’ll thank him later.

You haven't been able to come up with time periods or situations that are in relative to each other in this entire conversation.

To the bolded part, I have spent time over the past IDK 5 years looking at prospects, has given me a completely different perspective on prospects. I still love them but my ideas about prospects, which I see are still widely talked about in here. Were not wrong but let's say "overhyped". Like some that think having the best prospect pool is going to equal NHL wins. Overhyped.

To the next part, "anything else a GM does" Yes trades, yes signings. JB was not good at that.

If the new regime trades Highmore, a defensemen and Halak. You could certainly call up Lockwood, MD and Rathbone and that puts JB's picks at 10.

If he doesn't trade away Forsling 11, doesn't trade McCann 12.

It's not that hard to find hindsight to which you have done by saying JB sucked at drafting because he has 7 players on the team. As I said 18 players played NHL games. What happens after players are drafted has nothing to do with drafting.

The (frank) you talking about? I took the 8 year period of JB's drafting and compared that to the exact same 8 years of Tampa. Of course it's not a one-to-one comparison, nothing will be between any two teams. So that's just plain wrong.

Anyways, this conversation has reached its conclusion, as we're going to spin and spin here. Lets let it die in this thread.

Play tomorrow but if they lose by 5 again will most likely be the refs.

I agree.

Bruce should have tried to salvage the game. It was very much in reach at 3-0 and Halak's body language from the first goal on was terrible.

- boonerbuck

That’s what I was saying, should have pulled him after the 1st, he looked off.
