Carol Schram: The Canucks' playoff hopes took a hit in New Jersey, but they're hanging on After a disappointing 7-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Monday night, the Vancouver Canucks frittered away the positive momentum that was powering them toward a playoff spot. Can they regroup on Long Island on Thursday?

Can someone please send Nighthawk a message and let him know there’s a new blog?

This team is broken. Hopefully they lose the next three or 4 and start to tear it down. Boeser, Motte (only becuase he is a UFA and about to be overpaid) and Bo have to go. If they aren’t it will be a massive failure by the new management group. Build around the few players that can skate, demonstrate consistency and have a bit of a spine. Low standards but that is the Canucks way.

Also, LMFAO that Miller and Garly are the one that need to go from the last blog: get a clue fellas

Thanks Carol. Lots of good info. it

Playoffs are still a long shot. Other teams weren't going to make it easy. GM still giving them to the TDL to try.

Something has to happen with Halak. He can't play anymore. He's been terrible. Call up Martin and tell Halak to sit in the press box. Who cares about his feelings or how it looks. Team needs to win and he hasn't been able to help them.

As Carol mentioned in the blog, there will be salary cap implications

Frank Seravalli@frank_seravalli·50mTrade Targets 🎯 Detroit's #LGRW Filip Zadina is one of five new names to join the board at @DailyFaceoff.

"The 2nd best player in this draft" is possibly available.

At least Canucks got "The best damn smurf ever" in Hughes out of it.

Quoting Canucks fans is fun.

It’s best, in my humble opinion, if the team misses the playoffs so they can send a few players packing which should get them highly needed draft picks.

Bo Horvat, although a really nice person, should be sent down the road. He’s part of the problems with the team, inconsistent, soft, quiet, you get the picture. Change the culture, build with the youth’s.

The only untouchable, in my opinion, is Demko.
Horvat could get a decent haul.

This team has needed a proper rebuild for 8-9 years and it has an owner not willing to do it, so it's retool after retool. I have a feeling 15 years from now we'll still be retooling, probably why I've lost interest.

Other than broken & lose next 3 or 4 games I agree. I prefer the way the team is built needs changing.

Lefty also loved the Jake Virtanen draft pick and told us how great the Philly rebuild was.

His words are probably below Benning's.

About a month ago, I said March 5th will be decision day, that is only a few days away.

I predict the Canucks lose to the Islanders then unfortunately get spanked by the Leafs.
Brock Boeser will remain invisible, Hughes will get dominated, much like what happened against the powerhouse Devils, Hoglander will also be invisible, Garland will continue to fool the idiots on here because he looks real fancy while entering the zone, but will continue to blow a tire or pass to the other team.

There are zero untouchables on this team.

Petey and Hughes are definitely worth untouchable status. They will still continue to improve. Both are elite talents and can elevate themselves in the Playoffs. You don't trade that away when only 22 and 23.

I am warming up to trading Bo and trying to resign JT. Oddly enough, many fans from other teams seem willing to pay more for Horvat than Miller as well.

I can’t remember, did we see Keeper in the pre-season? I recall there being a bit of optimism that he would make the team out of camp…?

I said it before will be Zacha and Severson for Boeser and Hoglander . No cap issues.
