Best part of being the record keeper for so long.

I know the answer to this and it's no, we wouldn't.

We may have better younger depth but the top end players would be non existent.

Getting Miller was better than the cost. Losing UFA’s for nothing was the big hurt.

We will never know what the real cost was.

Without Miller in that 1st year he was here, there is know way the Canucks would have finished as high as they did, resulting in a much higher draft choice in the 1st round.

Good thing the Flames won't even get out of the first round either
- DariusKnight

They might win a round but will sputter. The deeper they go the harder it will be to beat Gary's 'buddies' lol

Which likely would have been Schneider drafted. We have the chance to get an equivalent prospect, plus a 1st, plus more. Miller was an absolute win, whether we resign and keep or trade him.

I don't know about the Flames team. I think they are better than the 18-19 team that was also in first place. They are also a team that has been playing above themselves the same way the 18-19 flames did. Which lost 4-1 in the first round to Colorado.

Game Day!

Tonight is the night that breaks Barry Trotz. 16-1 Canucks, Miller with a Sittler

Oh so close, but the win was never in doubt even after spotting the Isles the lead.

Without a doubt. However they are a bit better built for the PO's at this time and Sutter will help them but for sure playing above potential. I do think the Flames can get past Vegas but COL? Tough one but the AV's also have trouble in certain rounds of the PO's. Will Johnny-Monney pull the Cocaine disappearing act? Will the Marky Muffins make an appearance? So many questions...

They do have better depth. There's really nothing to say they aren't as good as they seem. They control play, expected goals is top 5 in the league. Have seen Marky in the playoffs.

𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀 Faber 🔥🎙@ChrisFaber39·14hThe Höglander-Pettersson-Garland line had a 90.9% control of the expected goals in their 9:55 of ice time together.

They were excellent tonight.

Maybe this can be the end of every game line juggling.

Been thinking moving MDP in a package to get a key piece back.

MDP has no trade value

Who knows what the 3rd round pick would have been, maybe Adam Beckman, maybe Layton Ahac, or maybe the player that was selected by Tampa.
I am not saying Miller has been a bad player, he has been excellent, just saying that it was the wrong time to make that move, for a team that was/is stuck in the 10-20 position.

Rangers have apparently been told a deal for Miller must include one of Schneider, Lafreniere or K. Miller.

Apparently we have interest in Byram from Col if a deal for Miller is made.

Dhaliwal: I did hear Pens could have interest in Boeser.

(The long rumored Boeser for Kapanen + deal?)

Hard to say, he is skating again, which is a good sign. Same thing happened with Ekblad, that worked out just fine once he got over the issues. Same with Sydney.

New blog is up:

On Thursday's big win, why it felt so good, and why the Canucks might be able to keep it going in Toronto on Saturday.

Also, the Abbotsford Canucks are cruising toward a playoff spot. Can they snag home-ice advantage?

I turned it off at 2-1 so missed the lead changes, but it was clear in the first who the better team was. But we’re talking about two of the worst teams in the league, so not a big surprise…

I don't think Bo would get more in a trade, TBH. Miller is the better player, tougher player, more veteran, and costs basically the same with the same amount on the contract. Not sure why Bo would command more?
- NewYorkNuck

Bo's still ascending and is a true 3 zone player, one of the best faceoff guys in the league. He'll kill it in the playoffs on a deep team.

Sure wish the Canucks played hard like your Flames. I expect to see them in Conference finals.
Canucks on the other hand get inconsistent play by most of the players and they become untouchables.
Canucks rely on Demko and Miller to win games.

What a shame this team is still only just above the feeders, after 8 drafts, yet some of the idiots on here think he was good at drafting.
Ffs, Mini and I would have had a much better team, with prospects to boot.

- Reubenkincade

Why didn’t you apply for GM? Lol
