Petey and Hughes are definitely worth untouchable status. They will still continue to improve. Both are elite talents and can elevate themselves in the Playoffs. You don't trade that away when only 22 and 23.

I am warming up to trading Bo and trying to resign JT. Oddly enough, many fans from other teams seem willing to pay more for Horvat than Miller as well.

It’s the market inefficiency that the Nucker nerd was talking about. That’s why you trade Bo

I can’t remember, did we see Keeper in the pre-season? I recall there being a bit of optimism that he would make the team out of camp…?

Injured in training camp did not see him play any games.

This team has needed a proper rebuild for 8-9 years and it has an owner not willing to do it, so it's retool after retool. I have a feeling 15 years from now we'll still be retooling, probably why I've lost interest.

Ya, I say you then kind of dangle the C July 1st to get Miller to sign. He is captain material.

Lefty also loved the Jake Virtanen draft pick and told us how great the Philly rebuild was.

His words are probably below Benning's.

- manvanfan

I don’t know why you and Booner keep saying Philly rebuilt, Hextall wasn’t allowed to, thus he just did a Benning like re-tool…with worse draft positions.

Ristolainen just turned down a Flyers offer of 6.36 x 6 . The team is garbage.

I can't remember exactly when but I don't think practices were open to the public so I am not sure why people thought he looked good???

I thought he broke a leg at end of a practice in pre-season? Could be wrong.

Meh. It's 4:20 all day on the left coast. No need for reality to impede the dream.

Day 3 of camp. Guess we were all still in the “Canucks are on top of the world” phase of late September.

For the right deal, Pouty & Huggy are expendable.

I would build around Miller instead of Horvat. If Horvat would fetch a better deal then all the more reason to trade his pacifist capri wearing ass. I still think Miller pouts too much when things aren't going his way.

It’s best, in my humble opinion, if the team misses the playoffs so they can send a few players packing which should get them highly needed draft picks.

Bo Horvat, although a really nice person, should be sent down the road. He’s part of the problems with the team, inconsistent, soft, quiet, you get the picture. Change the culture, build with the youth’s.

- LeftCoaster

Yet he’s the only player on this team who’s consistently produced in the playoffs (when given the chance) 23gms 11g 5a 16pts

Let’s use JT Miller as a comparable… 78gms 9g 35a 44pts

Thanks Carol.

About a month ago, I said March 5th will be decision day, that is only a few days away.

I predict the Canucks lose to the Islanders then unfortunately get spanked by the Leafs.
Brock Boeser will remain invisible, Hughes will get dominated, much like what happened against the powerhouse Devils, Hoglander will also be invisible, Garland will continue to fool the idiots on here because he looks real fancy while entering the zone, but will continue to blow a tire or pass to the other team.

There are zero untouchables on this team.

We also shouldn't be trading people just for the sake of trading them.

I've been using this for playoff odds this season:
https://www.hockey-refere...om/friv/playoff_prob.fcgi

At the low point of the year Van's playoff odds were 1.8%, and when they were at the peak of the winning streak they got as high as ~18%

This seems like one of the many topics that essentially comes down to semantics, like generational talent, captain material, alpha, blue chip prospect, core players, top 6, etc.

I suppose any player is technically available for the right deal.

That said, i'd still move Boeser 1st.
Moving JTM has always been a long shot imo, and less and less likely with his consistent play.

AS per usual, all our discussion and argument will likely be for naught and we will not make any moves at the TDL anyways

Those types of deals happen a lot on Cap Friendly and Fantasyland but rarely in real life.

I agree Boeser would be the guy seeing he is not worth giving him a raise.
