Minnesota is slumping? The Flyers should be the cure for that. Looking at their roster, they look like a team that could badly use a guy like Giroux, if he’s willing to go to Minny. - BiggE
Giroux would be a big boost to the Wild. Fletcher would probably want more from Minnesota than anyone else due to their greater need. Just a guess but I think Minnesota isn’t a desirable destination for Giroux. Minnesota most likely is reluctant to part with a 1st and the prospects they’ll need to compete the next 3 years. This deal is just talk I think.

Isn't this a familiar theme with most Flyers players, plenty of chances, very few conversions? Its great to hear Frost is starting to do at the AHL level what he needs to do at the NHL level, but it underscores the biggest need for this organization, to get some top end talent in here that can actually finish a play! - jd250

Minnesota Wild (under new management) 65 points vs Philadelphia Wild (under old Wild management) 42 points. Maybe the next group should be someone who has actually succeeded somewhere. - ICUBB
Don’t take this as me defending the guy but Chuck is responsible for drafting a bunch of those players. Your point is flawed. |

I wouldn’t know any of the Wild’s players if they came to my house and delivered me a Pizza…and their number one center played fourth line wing for us. - SuperSchennBros
He'll probably get his 20th goal against the flyers for his first 20 goal season. The Flyers like helping players set personal records, usually it's some guy scoring his 1st goal in 2 years but sometimes it's giving Crosby his 500th goal.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Flyers win. The Wild have lost 6 of 7 and are not playing with confidence. Up until recently, they were averaging 4 goals a game. Now that they’re snake bit, they can’t win because they don’t defend well. I expect this game to be a big challenge for the Wild. - Minnyhock
You must not have followed the flyers much this season. We suck. We suck bad. We are the team that ends the opposition teams losing streak as well as the team that usually helps snake bitten players find the net again.
At this stage of the season I am actually hoping that the flyers lose a few more games and get a decent draft spot because the season has been over for us for quite a while now.

So basically we were handed a million dollars tax free, spent two hundred of it before giving the rest away to charity, knowing full well our bills weren’t paid. |

Have to get Ratcliffe who might have a future out of the lineup in place of Willman who has zero future. Flyers logic. |

I'm with 2Real on this one. This makes my head hurt. Why exactly is Ratcliffe down? I mean did he pee in someone's coffee? |

Nah. He's taken a few penalties the last couple games. He must be disciplined.

The only thing we've done well this season is end other team's slumps. So rest assured your woes are over. We'll growl convincingly, skate hard, and end the night full of sound and no fury....

Frost has no problem finishing chances, ordinarily. Never has until the last couple months. How do players rebuild offensive confidence? The chances come first then, if they keep it up, the points come back with it.
Now he has to build off last night's performance. |

He needs to earn that next call up by doing the little things right. Getting back defensively, making the safe play with the puck. Becoming a tight checking center. Only then will have earned a call up back to the NHL. Then, we'll put him on the 3rd line to play 10 minutes a game with other AHL scrubs. He has to learn to play the right way if he wants to crack the Flyers stacked lineup.

Yeah, what he did in Minnesota isn't nearly as relevant as the Flyers currently being the 5th worst team in the league despite being capped out and also having traded away a 1st and two 2nds in the offseason.

Just tell him to watch Macewen and model his game after that. That’s Flyer hockey! |

You could have some trouble getting the loss tonight. The Wild have given up the most goals in the league since Feb. 14(4.75 G/GM) and Talbot has an .863 save % in that time and Kaukonen is at .887%. Neither can stop a balloon right now. Hart has been solid throughout. The Wild special teams are a mess. Balance that with the Wild are good 5x5 and have beaten the teams they should. We’ll see.

My take on it (100th iteration or is it just the 99th ) is that the Flyers attendance flourishing the past decade while being a bubble team, and the Flyers fans not being the most patient, has led to a situation where the franchise faces strong market incentives to aim for appearances of contention rather than actual contention. The moves last year, including cap spending and giving up high draft picks, must be seen in that light. Then, a pile of injuries occurred and the appearances plan went out of the window.
Personally speaking, I just don't see enough evidence to pile on CF just yet. You can't blame an employee of a business for not acting against the company bottom line.
The beefing up of the analytics team, the acknowledgment that they lack high end talent, and the pending TDL moves, are all still up in the air. That, and the timing of Hayes/Ellis surgeries next year will tip the scales for me.

How do you figure? Fletcher last season was 2018. Since then the only player drafted thats on the roster is Boldy. There hasnt been enough time for a lot of these picks to mature yet.
