Scoring lots of goals lately which is nice.

As good as Demko has been... the narrative that he's been the reason this team is winning... a lot people have been overlooking just how many goals this team has been scoring the last couple of weeks.

My boy Makar is a stud RHD we needed. Don’t recall anyone with me wanting him. AJHL scared them away. Wonder what it’d take to get Ceulemans?

They were always due for an offensive explosion, TG liked to play the turtle shell style of play where the team was trying to keep everything outside and let the other team shoot then use their transition game to produce the offense but they really don't have enough team speed for that to really work. Boudreau likes to play the run and gun, balls to the wall, don't hold onto the puck too long sort of style where he wants the puck up ice in the offensive zone and the team picking the other team's defense apart before shooting. That's more what the players we have skill set's are geared for. The difference is staggering though I admit.

Mine too . 8 -10 goals , 15 assists very good puck retrieval, deceptive shot, good passer . I think I sort of nailed my prediction.

After a Canadian franchise last SC win (Montreal 93):

Vancouver: 2 (1994 + 2011)
Calgary: 1 (2004)
Edmonton: 1 (2006)
Ottawa: 1 (2007)
Montreal: 1 (2021)

6/28 seasons. 6 trips. 6 losses. No TML.
I feel this year Calgary could be finalist again. And ofc lose again

I don't think Calgary will come out of the West. Would love an Avs vs Panthers final, that'd be some good fast hockey. Saw this on the Athletic the other day, pretty crazy stat:

Fun stat that I learned from friend of the blog Dimitri Filipovic while doing the PDOcast Thursday night: The Avalanche are 36-4-2 with Cale Makar and Devon Toews in the lineup with a plus-72 goal differential. Pretty good!

Well, make that 36-5-2, as they lost to the worst team in the league on Thursday. Again. Hockey is fun!

Sean: So they’re 4-6-2 when one of them is out. That’s your recipe for beating the Avs, baby! Lock Toews in his hotel room and hope for the best!

Markstrom is such a good teammate, first he gives countless hours helping Demko become a better goalie. Now he’s spending time with Vladar trying to help him see the puck the right way.

I agree! #1 team in Canada right now. Sutter said he has Unfinished Business in Calgary. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
