I think Canucks ( Pitts old crew) will turn to what they know this year and target Letang in the summer. I think with him and Rutherford knowing each other it will be a three year deal or even four to everyone's anger. Almost Benning like.
I do see them having interest is Duda seeing he has a very good shot and is climbing in the ranks. Even though he shoots left, he plays RHD . With Letang signed for three that would give him time to grow.
As far as forwards I think again JR will look to swap Boeser for Kapanen and the first which they use to get Duda.
I still think Zacha could be a Canuck at some time. (Soon?)
This is what I think happens but not sure if I like it. - VANTEL
The PIT model is all good and fine...but can't see Rutherford leaving three cups in his wake here. No Crosby or Malkin to build around but there is Demko progressing much quicker than Markstrom ever was. Maybe Letang is exactly what this club needs on a 'team friendly deal'??

I’m of the mind his ask will determine if he stays or goes. Then again idk how bad he wants to stay or how much it’s about money. Same kinda goes for Miller but that’s for next year. - Nighthawk
Not sure how much can be determined by their comments recently in media interviews but Brock was adamant he wanted to stay and Miller was non committal in his comments according to the hosts in the post game show on Thursday.

I don't see him taking a team friendly deal on maybe his last contract . I think it will come in at 3 x 7 . Always plenty of teams willing to spend foolishly. |

He was also the General Manager of the Hartford Whalers/Carolina Hurricanes from 1994 to 2014 and the guy who put together the 2006 Hurricanes Cup Championship team. So can we add the Hurricane model? |

I think Brock wants to stay in his comfort zone & stay here. He has to focus very hard on skating staying here or not. Also improve his passing. As for Miller he’s highly competitive & wants the same outta everyone. Has to trim down his give aways. He’s said he’s appreciative that he got top 6 mins to let him excel. Also idk if he wants to commit to anything while he still has a year left on his deal. |

Once Canucks clear enough salary. Malkin will be coming here. Only 36. 2 years 10M AAV. |

Canucks are 20-8-4 since the coaching change. I don't think it would take a lot to turn them around.
- VANTEL
It should be pretty easy to turn a team with a .688 winning point% around.
I had to double check to make sure I wasn't reading another one of Dim Donnie's posts by accident. |

wouldn't hurt to see him play, even if he is a tweener or "AAAA" player to use a baseball term |

Dump some cap where & when possible. Hopefully Dlcky & Hamonic or Poolman. 1 significant UFA D add & not spend assets.
If moving a core player then Boeser but in the offseason unless the PO push goes sideways or a very good offer.
Don’t see forcing any trade is needed other than for cap. |

K. Got it, 1 seat for you and one for Vantel. Try to get there early as I feel there may be a lineup to get on board. |

This winning is fun but definitely blurs the lines. Everyone in the East knows if theyr'e in or out. I suppose it would be fair to give this new management a chance, but this all feels very canuck. Keep the guy and he walks and we get nothing.
I think the big difference (and reading some comments others have pointed it out) is we don't have the crosby malkin, toews kane, etc. that can be rebuilt or retooled around. We have some pieces, but they feel scattered. We do have one big piece in Demko, I'll say that much. I've listened to more than I've watched, but it feels like Demko alone makes it seem like the team is a fair bit better than it actually is. |

Looks like the Jackets have the Leafs right where they want them, the dreaded 3 goal lead, worst in hockey! |

Demko has been solid but Canucks have been also filling the net. I read somewhere that Canucks are only second to the Flames is GPG% , I believe since Boudreau has taken over.
They have some holes to fill but they have some good pieces also . Miller is on pace for 91 pts. |

BuckFoston@BuckFoston_According to Seravelli if Tyler Motte doesn’t have an extension from #canucks by March 21st, he’s going to be playing somewhere else by the 22nd. |

Cheap 4th lines is the way to go. Playoff games, the bench gets shortened anyway. The PK might somehow get worse though, I think Motte is arguably the best PK forward on the team |
