This. It's great to have a top 5 goalie in the league, but to a contender you need a team in front of him. Canucks are like the Rags of the West under Bruce. Great goalie, but team is not good enough in front of him.

I really don't care enough about Motte TBH . If he is in a Canucks jersey next year great , if he is not great. To me he is a serviceable player.

I'm cool with recycling 4th liners, if you find a Hathaway type then sure, pay a bit to keep them if you feel like they're a big part of the team identity but otherwise keep them big, fast, and cheap

I like Hathaway . I had hoped we took a run for him. Benning hardly ever addressed toughness. It was all about speed and the team really is not that fast.

Damn ... Motte is my fav player on this team. I know 4th lines aren't given the attention or effort to keep together, but it would be nice to keep this one. Just throwing 3 traditional muckers together rarely seems to work for nucks ala roussel, sutter, beagle, schaller, ferkland, gaunce, mackewen, graovac ...

Also those wanting speed don’t seem to care moving him. Screwing around with the 4th line chemistry is risky. I don’t think his ask will be horrible. It’s time to focus on bigger needs.

Demko has been solid but Canucks have been also filling the net. I read somewhere that Canucks are only second to the Flames is GPG% , I believe since Boudreau has taken over.

They have some holes to fill but they have some good pieces also . Miller is on pace for 91 pts.

I say try and keep Motte if the salary is reasonable. Even Lammikko's emergence seemed to start just when Motte returned from injury. The Canucks have what the team needs for a grinder line... why break it up? Leave it intact and look to improve other players in the bottom 6 like D!ckinson and Chaisson. Find a good bottom 6 center.

We have the scoring all figured out with sniper Demko so all good there.

We also don't have depth. Almost everyone is healthy. We may be playing well/ok now, but it feels like a key injury or two could kill it.

Demko saviour + no depth = sellers imho ... even though I don't like it.

Canucks already survived the holes in the line up from injury, Covid protocols with key players stranded in the states including Demko in protocol. They seemed to find a way to survive it and keep winning. Even now when Demko lets in 4 goals, the Canucks score their way out of it.

Green is gone. BB squeezes what he needs to win out of these guys. 20/8/4 last 32 games.
