This team hasn't won poop either though

Agree with your comment about Calgary vs Vancouver though, different team mentalities and different talent levels. Adding a 4th line goon won't change a damn thing, it has to start from the leadership group. That's where Bo has fallen short, part of that was becasue he played for the wrong coaches too. Should've hired Hartley over Green.

queue Booner posting Bo's fights

- Nucker101

I was also a big advocate of Bo for the 'C' but ended up disappointed. Coaches were a factor for sure but so were the Sedins. If Bo would have been mentored by a different few players he might play tougher Hockey...But it just may not be in his nature to have that mean streak. Not expecting him to fight every night, just step up and challenge players who are taking runs at our guys. When OEL had to step in for guys taking runs at Garland that's pretty sad lol

Markstrom was offered 4X5.5 very fair contract and more than he was worth at the time after the Canucks organization spent 5 years on his development. Canucks saw Demko was progressing much quicker so it was a solid choice. Wanted Tanev gone for awhile here he was useless half the time with injuries. But like you indicated CGY shelters his play so less injuries...for now lol. Very glad bot Tanev and Marky are gone it was the right call.

“When Boudreau took over in December, the Oilers were 14 points up on the #Canucks  with two games in hand.

Today, they’re just 2 points up, same number of games.”

I see Jake Virtanen and a few other NHL’ers have bailed on their KHL teams/contracts.

As much as JB (frank)ed this franchise up, that franchise has been a shit show for so long now. How do you have the best player in the league and be this bad?

I wonder how big the trade rumors will be if they miss the playoffs

NHL is so sensitive and soft. In other leagues, players embrace being in the big spotlight cities, soccer/baseball/football and in the NHL people just whine about the twitter trolls. Super weird and definitely a bit of an echo chamber mentality going on, waaah it's hard for players to play here

I get what Friedman was saying about the Sedins now, say what you will about them taking punches, they didn't cry about the fans making it hard for them or the team. Truly a pathetic excuse and a sign of a mentally weak team

Good post.

Easy, they have no goaltending and a poor support team. Many great NHL players won SFA because of the same scenarios. Marcel Dionne being a prime example. Dale Hawerchuk, Jarome Iginla, Cam Neely, Peter Stastny, Adam Oates, Gilbert Perreault, Rod Gilbert, Pat Lafontaine, Darryl Sittler, etc. etc.

Now, some of those guys at least went to a Cup final, but McDavid and Draisaitl are still young…they may get there one day if the Oilers can find a goaltender under the age of 40

Rhetorical question, we all know the answer. Seems everyone from the outside has been saying things for years now, but the GM(s) just can't put that poop together. Maybe if McJesus and Drai bought into defense they'd do some damaged in the playoffs.

Think it was Mike Modano who said he would have got a ton more points/awards, but Hitch made him play defense and he won a cup with that. Wouldn't have won without that buy in.

lol all in all pretty minor stuff. A few tweaks here/there and the ship will fly straight. Just like this Benning built roster under Boudreau...

No can’t remember any posters wanting to trade Brock

Not even sure Miller could get Schneider. Brock certainly couldn’t

Or maybe if the Oilers would consider trading one of the two and use the assets to fill the holes they have in the goaltending and bottom 6. At this point I think Drai is better than McDavid and I'd keep him over McJesus and save the 11 mil in cap space for improvements.

History shows some bad luck being Klefbom always injured but not identifying a real starting goalie need & signing old has beens.

There's been some bad signings and trades and lack of awareness that led them to this point. I don't think they should have got to the point where trading one of them would fill needed roster holes, but that would logically really help them.

It’s called BUYING IN. Something some selfish players don’t get. Aka uncoachable or outright stupid & lazy

JB never lucked out on 1oa & get a McD & turn it into 1 of the worst poop shows in NHL history.

Chia was the worst Gm of all time.

Takes over a team with 4 first overalls, a third (Drai) that is better than most of the firsts. And runs it all into the dirt.

Not sure why there is so much panic. Much Hockey left to play. Minor stuff really.
