Rangers hire Gallant, team improves. Vcr hires Bourdreaus , the team improves.
Wpg can't hire any other coach due to life long contract with Huddy and now most likely Kompon.
At least the team is getting into the higher draft pick area now, at which Wpg will most likely select a player and then leave him to wither away in the minors.
Coaching & mgmt = terrible. |

Its time to let Chevy go! The guy would clearly not even notice that he has been let go due to all the day offs he has taken!
This team needs new management and coaching. Culture shift required. |

lets hope this erases any shadow of a doubt that this team needs a whole new coaching staff, there is not one single argument to be made to keeping this group.
yes i'm hard on Stanley but there are a lot of folks in here very hard on Heinola who seem to give Stanley a pass just because they like his size. how can you watch Stanley and see anything to make you think he's good, what an all around awful game he had. trade him now while he has any value at all and you can fool some other idiot GM into loving him for his size.
the hardest off season move this team has, more difficult then hiring a new coaching staff is very simple!!! This CAN NO LONGER BE WHEELS AND SHEIF'S TEAM!!! the torch must be passed to PLD, Ehlers, Morrisey, Connor, Perfetti. this HAS to be reflected in letters on jersey's, ice time, top PP unit and all media scrums. 55 & 26 have had a decade, it hasn't worked, don't drag it out. I'm not saying the both have to be moved, but they both have to buy in to a new direction where they are not the stars and face of this team, or they do have to be moved out. |

The off season would be the best time to make a coaching change. Dave Lowry hasn’t worked out. But, since he was already under contract and the Jets organization hasn’t made any revenue from ticket sales over last two seasons, I completely understand why he was given the interim coach opportunity.
I don’t think Kevin Chevyldayoff will be going anywhere. This is a great team on PAPER. All analysts/arm chair analysts had Jets contending this year. Hopefully an off-season coaching change and hellebuyck returning to form will push the team back to contention next year.
It would be a good idea to sell off copp/stastny at trade deadline. Wouldn’t hurt to see what the market would be like for Schmidt and Dillon. They have been solid but they not be much of an upgrade over all the young dmen that are knocking on the door.

Size is not a good enough reason to keep a player around and Stanley had a game below his standard - rust maybe? The case for keeping him considers things like the mis-match netfront on Krieder's first goal. DeMelo just doesn't have the beef to battle a player like Kreider for real estate.
I would like to see the Jets keep Dillon and give Samberg a longer look. Compare with Stanley then you keep one of Samberg or 64 around.
This team's timing has been terrible. All year long this team has not had everything working at the same time. Its been the PP, the PK, 5v5, gaffs, goaltending, 55/26 slump at start of year, Ehlers injury, Leah Hextall - did I miss anything?

I keep seeing folks claiming the jets could have won the game and outshot the rangers or their goalie was hot that game. This has happened all year long. Obviously our high quality shots aren't there.
This team is broken. They could sneak into the playoffs but I'd rather see them sell at the deadline and regroup for an actual run.
Coaching, I don't know. Dave seems like a good guy, but is he the right guy or maybe its the team thats playing or not playing for him. |

The game against Vejmelka in Arizona comes to mind. Jets had about 45 shots on net and Arizona won the game 1-0. To me the loss looked different last night as they actually tested the goalie with some quality shots, played with more urgency - the effort was there.
The team just doesn't play consistent defensive hockey and Helly hasn't been able to bail them out this year. The answer is looking more and more like cleaning house and replacing all in the coaching dept. It would take a brilliant win streak to save thier jobs now.

This team just isn't that good on paper though and those analysts are either biased or too blind to see that this team had significant flaws and question marks before the season started.
This team has struggled to score at even strength for years, what happened in the offseason that any of the hockey talking heads thought was going to have fixed that problem, I never heard Button, Saravelli or any of them question that.
While I think this team is better then its record I don't think its by much, really not surprised to see this season going down the toilet like it is. |

I do wonder where this team would be at if Buff hadn't suddenly retired and if Little had not been injured.
Bear in mind that we lost 2 valuable players and got nothing in return.
I believe that these 2 contracts would be in the $13 million range combined.
Stastny, Schmidt, and DeMelo would be close to the same amount.
I think we would be better off with Buff and Little, and to be fair to Chevy, this was a tough break that he could never have seen happening.

Stats should fetch a decent return one would think.
His play would certainly suggest he could fit right into another team and produce. |

I predict they get a 4th for Stastny and a 2nd for Copp if they are traded.

Yea could see that happening, although I "hope" for a 1st fro Copp and a 2nd/3rd for Stastny.
Dillon and/or Schmidt should fetch a decent return of the Jets decide to that route. Everyone contender needs those eight/nine d-men, preferably with experience. |

Was at the game last night! What a great game. Scheifele looked so good as did Dubois.
I watched Svechnikov very closely. That man just creates havoc around the net and he is the only Jet not afraid to stand in front of the goalie. He is a great compliment to Connor and Dubois. Just thinking that if this line-up stayed the same the lines on this team could have been:
Connor-Dubois-Svechnikov
Perfetti-Scheifele-Wheeler
Copp-Stastny-Ehlers
Harkins-Lowry-Poganski |

Teams that fired the HC and one of the assistants have put themselves in a better position for success this season, see VAN/EDM/MTL. Then see PHI and WIN who promoted from within, it doesn't work, it usually never works. Both team are seeing far different results from the ones who brought in a new HC. That falls on management. |

Not bad Ultimate, anyone else but Poganski though, Toninato, Vesalainen or Reichel are better options then Poganski, can't believe how much ice time was given to a guy who's clearly an AHL level talent.
Speaking of the AHL, I hope to see some of the Moose prospects get recalled for a look in NHL action, Gawanke deserves a chance, he's earned it and Mallot looks good in the AHL, as well, should give him a game or two as well. Also hope to see Berdin get in some games before the season ends, need to see what some of these guys have to offer. |

At some point, everyone in the caoching system has to go and be replaced by new ideas, new direction, different systems perhaps, different etc, etc. There has to be change, period.
I hope this coaching staff is just here to get the team to the end of the season then mgmt brings in a new coaching team. Every team needs a rejunivation in the coaching staff and I actually thought Maurice was going to replace Huddy back when he became HC.
It seemingly suggests its past due here. |

Jets fans, WIN +105 at NYI tonight. I am the denegerate gambler here, I like the Jets, playing better hockey than NYI. Thoughts Jets fans?! |

Just what I thought! Who would be ideal for the Jets to hire in the off-season as HC?! Claude Julien?! Or do the Jets go with a young coach from the AHL or NCAA?!

Lots of inconsistencies all year, improved play recently and they are healthy. Hellebuyck likely gets the start and he is the big gamble these days. His history says he bounces back from poor outings well. Both teams are on back to backs, Jets are younger. At 105 I like the Jets for the win tonight. |

I am suggesting pink slip for Mr Huddy and the entire coaching team.
It must be demoralizing for long term players like Scheif to play for the same coaching staff for their entire NHL career, Fans are tired of it, how could players not be tired as well? |
