Two quick points:
1. Dude was not nearly fat enough.
2. Why the frank wouldn't Parros tell the crew that the goalie's pads were on backwards? This pissed me off so much I couldn't watch to the end of the video. - Atomic Wedgie

If rebound control is Going to continue to be an issue and it looks like it may be for a while… Clearing guys out … it’s going to be Paramount…
A perfect example is the Boeser goal … 78 Has to break his stick over his back and run him into the boards… Not go around the outside of him for a worthless, sorry little stick lift.. - dozerD10
Rebounds are bouncing all over the place, not just right in front of the net. It’s the pucks that are going 5 or 6 feet out (ie past where the D are stationed) that are causing the problems. Campbell simply has to control where those pucks are going.
The issue of traffic in front t of the net has been a problem on shots from the point. D need to establish good positioning and tie up the sticks of guys in front of the net.
Chiarot was effective against Matthews and gang in the playoffs because Price wasn’t bouncing rebounds all over the place.

I'm not say go out and get Chiarot. I'm saying crosscheck players like Chiarot does in front of his net. - dmnted
It's not likely to happen that they just start playing with a mean streak at this point. Just not much nastiness whatsoever.
I don't think other teams fear playing the Leafs at all, in terms of physicality. And when it's particularly bad, their own coach has called it "soft". That's about the biggest insult you can give to hockey player or team.

I think what Dubas is saying is all smoke
With how serious the league is getting on concussions and how progressive leafs management is…makes sense that they shut him down - Santo_44
Dubas hasn’t said they won’t use Muzzin’s cap room. He just said he hopes Muzz can come back and will only spend that money if he gets word he won’t be back.

I understand that.
I just don’t see how they bring him back unless he miraculously has zero symptoms right now.
A silly risk to give him his 3rd concussion in like 4 months. Even playing playoffs is risky for him.
Freddy was different. He had a resume and his first two years were very good. Then his confidence took a hit and he was injured last year. Now he's healthy and kicking ass.
For me, they need to prioritize goaltending more than they have the last 15 years.

In the seven years since Shanahan took over this team, they have drafted and developed three defencemen, Dermott, Sandin and Liljgren. Passing on Schneider for Amirov still pisses me off. Big physical right shot D, Canadian World Junior? Nah. Let's take a shot on another soft, skilled Russian winger. They are reaping what they haven't sown on the back end - lack of nastiness and physicality.

Amirov is a 6 foot slick skating Russian forward. They took a shot at his ceiling which was definitely higher than Schneider's.
Schneider is physical and he's big - but so far he's another Luke Schenn. He's playing bottom pairing protected minutes and is getting reasonably thumped in those minutes. He's also 19 so he's incredibly young and there's a lot of room to progress, so I'm not slamming him. But the next steps he takes in that progress determines if he becomes more than just a physical bottom pairing guy and turns into a physical top-4 player.
I'm not disagreeing with you that we could certainly use someone like that, but while I wanted them to go for Schneider or Guhle . . . and I was really hoping Askarov would slip to us - I don't mind the risk on taking skill. You get a couple of things out of NCAA and Russian picks - typically more time for them to develop. They come to the NHL more mature. I have no idea if Amirov will ever recover enough to continue his professional hockey career, but I don't fault them for that pick.

The fact that Dubas failed to foresee a serious illness in Amirov is all we need to know about him
