Yes, McCann is the better player. If he is regressing it's only minimal, he has a shot at scoring 30 this season.

Kapanen has been handed a position and he will retain it all season. That's the Sullivan way. The sooner the Pens rid themselves of him the better. Not because of Kap's play but because Sullivan refuses to promote/demote players on merit.

Kapanen has been benched and demoted multiple times this season for his play. He has been promoted back up to the top 6 at times to see if he can find his scoring touch again.

Sullivan had an excellent opportunity to create competition coming out of the All Star Break. The only guy who took advantage of the situation was Danton Heinen. McGinn, Kapanen, and Carter all failed. Erod, Simon, and ZAR were never given a chance. Both ZAR and Simon played on par with everyone else, they should have been given at least a look. Actually ERod and Simon did get a shift or two one game when Kap was benched for one period. Kap was right back up there next game. No consequences for him whatsoever.

Heinen Malkin Kapanen have literally doubled up their competition in shots, scoring chances and high danger chances since the break. They are playing some of the best hockey on the team. Kapanen away from those two though.... he has been ass, that is for damn sure. But that trio has played 50 minutes together since the break and have 3 goals for, 2 against, and are over 60% control in every major shot/chance category .

Heinen and Malkin are playing great hockey. Kapanen is probably the sixth best forward on this team, currently. That is more by default than anything else.

I hope he is the answer to our prayers of scoring wing for Geno but I'm not holding my breath.

When you take into consideration of why players are in the lineup and what’s expected of the role they play in Kapanen is dead last on the team. Period.

He isn't that type of scorer. I wish he was, but he isn't. He has to be more defensively aware and harder on the forecheck if he wants to be effective. The goals will come if he starts doing this again.

I think I would have scratch ZAR. Boyle can do everything he does and still has an eye for the net when the opportunity presents itself.

Yea I think I'd rather have Boyle too, he does have an offensive pulse when the opportunity presents itself. ZAR has negative offensive upside.
