Tune in for the semis and finals. The top AA teams are as good as most AAA teams. Saw Pennridge AA beat Holy Ghost Prep AAA this year. Great hockey kids work hard and very entertaining. AA SHSHL finals was better then any Flyers game I have seen in years. To each his own but I find it great hockey
- hfc355

It is lower level hockey.

Watch the NE Prep league elite 8 playoffs; Salisbury won. Much much better than the school hockey in this area. Many D1 commits and junior drafted players.

Any chance Atkinson is dealt?

And would we want that?

I'm just guessing, but anyone wanting to watch the A, AA, AAA tournaments are probably alumni of those schools or programs and have no interest in watching whatever the NH Prep league elite 8 playoffs are.

That is true but dont watch HS hockey out of the area watch it for local known teams and schools. The fun of the rivalries and history of the Flyers Cup and High School leagues in this area makes great competition. Couldnt care less about NE Prep teams

If a deal comes along that makes sense, I'd trade literally anybody off this team. Including Hart, Provorov and Coots. There should be no untouchables from a team this bad.

Regarding Risto being resigned, I think it is highly likely considering the mindset of this organization.

There is no way Chuck is going to admit his mistake and trade away a defenseman that he spent so many assets to acquire. Expect him to double down, which is very much in line with the rigid thinking that is prevalent among the Flyers brass. Not to mention he plays the body and is physical, which is right up The Countryclub's alley as well.

I'm sure they can't wait to pay this guy actually.

coming from the guy who chased jeremy roenick in a Walmart parking lot for an autograph.

Don't be mad you were not good enough to play n that league. Even though many schools in that league are right in your own backyard.

2025ish.

Any chance at all that the Flyers would deal Giroux to your most hated rivals? I would enjoy seeing him with NY. Always been a Giroux fan, touching the police officer notwithstanding.

Hi Bill,

If you had to bet... Who's our backup to Hart next year? Is someone being promoted to the big club, or do we try to bring back Martin Jones?

I hope they move him. I was one of the few optimistic when we got him but if he turned down that one deal there’s no reason to overpay the guy given the current state of the rest of the team.

The Flyers currently stink but am I the only one that thinks some of the things Fletcher has said aren't super far off? Like, the team had an historic number of injuries... I don't care who you are, if you lose your 1C, 2C, 3C, 1D, top winger (Farabee) and pretty much every minor league player looking to make the jump (Allison, Laczynski, York, etc.) to injury for large swaths of the season, you're not going to be a good hockey team. Add in a dusting of dinosaur coaching staff, an albatross contracted player falling off a cliff (JvR), an unplayable 3D player who you can't bench due to hockey man things, and your team looks WAY worse than it actually is.

I don't necessarily think Fletcher is the one to fix things, or at least he hasn't shown that he can, and definitely have my gripes with Flyers upper management, but going into the year, the Flyers looked like a deep team who was going to challenge for a top-3 spot in the Metro. If you get a:
- healthy Coots
- healthy Hayes
- healthy and even stronger Farabee
- healthy Ellis
- bought-out JvR
- no more Yandle
- whatever returns we get from G/Risto?/Braun?/Brassard?/Jones?
- whatever free agents we sign
- whatever top-10 pick we're going to inevitably get

... the turnaround fortunes for this team could be pretty drastic. There's a lot of skill to replace, especially if we lose G, but I really think the Flyers will be fine and have the pieces to be fine depending on how the next 6 months go

The stupid people in this country really are going to gobble up the idea that we need to start an actual war with Russia.

Thankfully we can be morally proud about buying oil from the Saudis, Iran, and Venezuela.

Mad times.

Fletcher is beloved by that old guard because he lets them be involved. Likely far more than Hextall ever did.

The Flyers are going to tread water until those beloved men are no longer influencing the team. It’s very clear where the issues with the organization currently lie, and it’s with those who have continually shown to incompetent in the current NHL.

Only morons will believe the idea of some sort of retool here will produce anything of worth.

Don't you know we have 2 diff environments. USA cant produce oil as it is bad fro said environment. Other countries can produce and no issue.

Keep pulling that demo level people.

This administration is loving the high gas prices so then can push their electric car agenda.

It’s not about high gas prices to push an electric agenda.

It’s about gaining support for another war. People eat up what the media tells them though, and will happily watch the economy suffer just to prove some misguided moral point.

I mean, Clarke and Holmgren probably have a voice, but there's no way they're influencing roster or even draft decisions that heavily. They're a bit of a scapegoat duo, especially to a cranky fanbase who has no actual insight into back-room happenings... my bigger concerns lie in the scouting staff (none of those dudes have been replaced in YEARS save for the top like Chris Pryor), Dean Lombardi, and anyone involved in player development.

I think those issues will be addressed and I'm feeling optimistic about Briere becoming more involved in the mgmt team, along with additional hires into the analytics department.

The Flyers have a decent core that can definitely be improved through some smart signings and coaching staff hires. I'm really curious to see what happens between now and the end of free agency.

Bought an EV late last year. One of the best decisions I've ever made. Fun as hell to drive, barely any maintenance and range is never a problem. And now gas prices lul.

There's nothing about my old ICE that I miss at all.
