What did I just witness. Did they just bring back the Foxtrax puck from the 1990's? |

Most sports teams make signings like Stewart? I don't think so. He was not an NHL player and everyone knew it. You're confused. That was not about a signing that just didn't work out. The other is Yandle and he has been a huge problem this season. - MJL
I agree that Stewart couldn't play anymore and was a bad signing but he was barely here. My point is that he was a non-factor 3 years ago and we got rid of him quickly so why still dwell on it? As for Yandle, totally agree! Yandle is different as he has been playing all year despite hurting the team. I didn't like the Yandle signing but I will not dwell on it the next 3 or more years. Cut him at the end of the year and move on....till we sign someone like Billy Tibbitts

Thank goodness. I was so mad when Hayes didn’t pull the trigger on that Risto pass. |

I’m with you. I’m not a Fletcher fan. I hate that he’s giving out favors to old friends from Minnesota. With this said, Stewart was a player who you could throw away like a parking ticket. It’s other decisions that bother me more like how much he paid to get Ristolainen or trading two young players for Ellis and his injury history. People keep calling this Ellis deal a wash but on what planet is that deal a wash? Patrick and Myers deals are peanuts and you can Bury them anywhere. We’re stuck with Ryan Ellis’ 6 million for better or worse.

Nobody is dwelling on it. It came up in conversation. That simple. You've overreacted. Yandle signed a one year deal. There won't be any need to cut him. Can't cut a player any way.

The point you are missing is he ignored his analytical dept. when they clearly said do not sign him. That is a fact. That is what the argent is/was.
In all likelihood he also probably ignored them when he traded for RR as he said he has been after him for years.
Well the flyers employed a killer so there is that....

The Stewart signing was doing a guy a favor, you can criticize that in its own right but this wasn’t some signing that he thought would make the team better. Nothing to do with stats or analytics, just a guy he knew that he could give a chance to get back into the game. |

They showed the win probability after the first for Fanduel or whatever thousand gambling things jammed down your throat, could make some money betting on Flyers to blow games. |

You invite a guy to camp on a PTO. As a favor; no problem. He makes your team; comical. You then offer him an NHL contract. Waived after what 15 games? No shock there.
He signed him because he felt he could help the team. He was wrong.
It was dumb from the get go. Again you are also missing the point about why Stewart was brought up in the first place. |

Haha you think that Fletcher was going to consider his analytics department in this situation? Stop being so butt hurt about this, have a drink or something |

So then when you sign a guy to an NHL contract who will be on your NHL team, one would think you talk to your entire team.
The fact is he did consult them and ignored their recommendations. So yes he did consider his analytical dept in this case.. |

It comes up in conversation quite often as if it really impacted our team which is why I find it puzzling and amusing. I will ignore it the next time someone posts about it. I'll hold out till Nate is back and the complaints roil in about him blocking Frost lol
My bad on using the word cut for Yandle...I know it's a one year deal but was referring to the fact that he will be gone after the season.

Not just the dumbest penalty in all of hockey, Nick Seeler jumped on to the ice and there wasn’t even a change going on |

Do you think that's what a GM should be doing. Giving a player who can't play anymore a chance?

Agreed. That's all it was. Fletch likes his Minnesota peeps - at least we all can agree on that!
