The only way you can look at standings when you are trialing is to only worry about getting to a certain amount of points by the end of the season. The Islanders have to get to 100 points or very close to it to make the playoffs... They would need to get 48 points in their last 28 games... it's just not going to happen. Looking up will drive you nuts..

Butch earned my respect with 19 points in his first playoff run .. followed by a Conn SMyth trophy in the next one... He knows more about Hockey than you will ever know.. The fact that he Leans towards the Islanders during his broadcast is b/c he was and is an Islander. He is worlds better than most of the color guys we have had.. including AJ, and Jaffe, and Micheletti, and Crispino. the only one that was close was Westfall.

Butch doesn't have to make sense. He's Butch, the Yogi Berra of the NHL. I really don't mind the guy as much as you and some others. As Nite acknowledged, yeah, he's a homer, but he knows he's a homer. Give him a few more years, and he might even learn the rule changes of the past 20 years.
