Yes, the Flyers have a knack for signing guys long term only to have them go belly up. Johnny wouldn't dog it nearly as much as JVR and he's way more talented, so it wouldn't be the epic JVR failure, but I suppose his numbers would come down a good bit from the pinnacle that they are on this year.

I'm hearing rumors(NHL on Sirius/XM) that Risto would take 4 million a year. Would anyone here sign him to a 4 for 4(years) contract. I still think he brings an element that they need. I mean, Vegas had 24 high danger chances the other night. Can you imagine how soft this defense would be without Risto?

No to RR. Everything I've seen written indicates that he is looking for 6M plus.

I read this and it cracks me up. Ristolainen gives up high danger chances at an alarming rate. The only regular defenseman in the lineup with a higher rate is Keith Yandle. They are soft with Ristolainen and he is one of the biggest reasons why! Ristolainen was on the ice for 10 of those high danger chances against Vegas.
