Nope, Igor needs to stay on the Phantoms and play big minutes and in all situations. He needs to bulk more also. My hope is he is ready to compete for a job on the big club next season. Everything the Flyers do now should be geared to next year. - jd250
Nope he needs to be in the nhl. Which will be gearing him up for next year.
So help me understand why he cant bulk up in the NHL? They have better food and facilities anyway |

Hearing another UFA-to-be may be coming off the board: Rasmus Ristolainen and PHI grinding closer to an extension. Expecting AAV in the $5M range.

That is comical. Just wish it was for more money. RR clearly knows no other team will offer him that in free agency.
Guy has been associated with losing his whole career. Will fit right in going forward.

The defense pairing for tonight should be below
Provorov/Sanheim
York/Braun
Seeler/Ristolainen - MJL
You are such a clown, no other way to put. You will do anything to crap all over Risto .. its sad! And your so wrong too, it makes no sense to break up your best defensive pairing. It should be this:
Sanheim/Ristolainen
Provorov/York
Seeler/Braun

I don't agree. Out of all the coaches the Flyers have had since Berube, who should have never been fired in the first place (Thanks Hextall!), Yeo is IMO the best coach we have had. I don't always agree with his in game decisions, but given the situation he has been thrown into, how the players are responding to his coaching and most importantly, how Yeo has exposed this team's ongoing culture issues and is working to resolve them, he deserves a lot of credit. If he does nothing else but expose and fix the team's culture issues (which BTW start with CC Giroux), he should be applauded for what he did for this franchise, especially if the team moves on to finally win a Cup! - jd250
I'm not really sure that he exposed anything about the culture of the team or that he has improved the play of the team either. I can't tell what type of system he runs or if there really is one. |

I'm pretty sure that you would hold this title day after day on here, but you never really make a post. You just make little snarky comments about other people's posts. I guess the fact that you're a bombastic simpleton makes it impossible to actually make your own post? |

If close to $5M per, I can live with Risto on this team. Think about it, you walk into next season with Ellis/Provorov, Sanheim/Risto and a better 3rd pairing, say York/Attard or York/FA the defense will be significantly better. Big assumption here is Ellis stays healthy for the most part. |

I was looking forward to watching future Flyers Anton Lundell play tonight but I guess he's not in the lineup. So York back up to play the right side. That few weeks down in the AHL must of done wonders. - MJL

Bill, do you have any update on Sam Morin? The kid has tried so hard to play hockey and unlucky injuries have derailed his career. He plays with so much passion and has such a great attitude, something missing from a few players on this team. Speaking of lack of passion, JVR looks so disengaged that I wonder why he is still on the line up. Mike Yeo has preached accountability, but some veterans have gotten too many passes even when there are other players available to take their spot. Yandle scares me every time he has the puck, no fight in his play, he loses the puck so easily that teams probably target him for easy takeaways. Thanks for your objective assessment of the team. I really enjoy when you participate on Flyers Daily with Jason Myrtetus. |

Well Ivan RR Sanheim have shown they are not a good enough threesome. Changes need to be made. Adding Ellis still will not be good enough.
There is zero chance they play 2 young guys on the 3rd pair.

It was a lead pipe lock for him to be resigned. This organization is mind numbingly stupid and it tracks with how they view themselves.
No chance in hell was the GM going to admit his mistake and try to recoup some assets. Instead he is going to grab the shovel, close ranks, and dig the ditch deeper.
Can't wait for the Sixers game tonight. |

I'm starting to think you are a burner account for someone in Flyers management. Bryan Colangelo part 2.
Can Hinkie's analytics squad get on the case and find out?

I do believe the team is playing better, more structured, but clearly now its less about the system and more about the lack of talent of the players. Regarding the culture, if you have not already, I suggest you listen to a recent post game presser from Mike Yeo or check out Jason Myrtetus' podcast last weekend, where he really broke down what Mike Yeo was talking about. The key phrase from Yeo was "There is a big difference between being a good teammate and being a good guy". This is the root of the Flyer's culture problem for years now, in fact Yeo mentioned in his presser he is the 4th head coach that has tried to address this. A good guy never goes out of his way to criticize another teammate. A good teammate is not afraid to tell another teammate, even his best friend, that he needs to step it up, play better, etc. Think about this in the context of signing Kevin Hayes and then bringing in Hayes' buddies Atkinson and Keith Yandle. Add that to what we already know about Giroux's leadership style which is also to never criticize and then also add in the statements from Braun earlier this year where he mentioned how this team needs to have the accountability that his San Jose Sharks team had with Jon Thornton as the captain. Put it all together and its clear what is going on with this team! |

Briere should threaten to quit before this terrible Risto deal goes through. He's going to be the one stuck dealing with it when Fletcher's Failures struggle again next season and the GM gets the boot. |

5/ 5.1 M per Dreger - Hatchet
Fletcher doubling down ... its 5 x $5M which is what I predicted what Risto should get, so chalk up another right prediction for me! Suck on that @MJL! |
