I don’t have a problem with it. 5 million seems to be the norm for veterans in their late 20’s.
- SuperSchennBros

The contract is better than I thought it would be. However, I would have preferred trading him and using that money on a different player.

The architect of double digit losing streaks is rolling his sleeves up and getting to work. Has to have everyone brimming with confidence.

Truly a gift for the rest of the league. The rest of the hockey league hasn't laughed this hard at organizational dysfunction in a long time.

So when does news drop of a partial NTC or NMC? Truly a player of Risto's caliber deserves it.

You realize that he'll be buried in the AHL a la AMac, then probably bought out before he sees the end of the deal, right?

The reality is that no defender takes a pay cut like this in his prime! I'm guessing the agent did some sniffing around the league and found out that his client wasn't going to fetch much of a raise. Whoops!

He’ll be 28 at the beginning of next season, you really think he’s going to be buried in the AHL by the end?

Some idiot GM would've paid him that on the open market. Unfortunately, our idiot GM paid him that before he hit the open market

Apparently Fletcher and Risto's agent agree.
- jd250

Lol. Are you a paid consultant for Fletcher? If so, you should disclose that conflict of interest.

My question exactly. While the numbers aren't, in and of themselves, horrendous it's the NTC or NMC that can (frank) it up.
