Risto is a good dude and a workhorse defenseman. It's a shame he hasn't figured out his position, as he's always caught out of place. The contract isn't horrible though - Up2nuthun
He’s not great. But there are far worse contracts out there.
Seems about right….used as a second pairing d. Should at least get a chance at the PP as their Pp is god awful. Not an over pay for once which is strange for the Flyers. - landros 2
Risto is mediocre at best. Huge overpay for mediocrity.
He must be the best guy ever. He always seems to be well liked even though he's bad at hockey. It's funny because he shouldn't be bad at hockey. Almost every game you can see why he should be good at hockey, but he is only about 25% of the time. That's just way too low.
He just must be funny as hell in the room. - lacaprup
Beauty of it is he would still be buffs best dman.
Risto has played fairly well since coming back from injury. Good not great. However, he is still a top 4 damn who hits people and that is worth 5 mill which is what he got. Not sure what the mystery is here.
Now if only the team put him on the PP instead of the dreck they runout there…
If there's a better example than this that Darwin was egregiously wrong, I don't know what it is. - buffalofan19
The problem with Darwinism is that it takes time.... no part of his theory says fools will get eliminated quickly... so in a couple of hundred years, Flyers may not give out such contracts...
