Motte continues to get better each season. He's on pace for 26 point - from a 4th liner that's incredible. He does just about everything well, forecheck, skate, Hit, PK, and can play up and down the lineup effectively. He absolutely deserves upwards to 2.5MIL, it would be awesome if we could get him for around 1.75 BUT The problem is we have a bunch of fawkheads like D!ckskin, Poolman, Hamonic and a slew of past players who've earned WAY more than they should so it distorts what guys like Motte actually are worth and deserve.

I agree that he's overperformed what he gets paid, but I think the key is to not over pay for that. Unless you think he's the 2nd coming of Burrows, it's just more of the same. Richardinson and Poolman are what happen when you give those players more money (and Roussel and Beagle and Pisani and all the other jobbers who had a moment that got them a big contract).

I have worked with many fans of both those teams and all I can say is how dead wrong you are. I swear Oilers fans are the dumbest in the league. Even Leafs fans aren't as dumb.

Being in Red Deer right smack in the middle of CGY-EDM the fanbase is about a 50/50 split BTW EDM/CGY for the fanbase. Tough being a Nucks fan here but it's all in good fun. For the most part I'm actually surprised the majority of Flames fans are walking upright...a little back in the evo-chain if you get me lol
