It wasn't a make up call... it was a blatant trip.

I just think you whine about officiating more than necessary. Are they perfect? Far from it. But they aren’t out to get the Canucks.

Why not start Bo on the PP? Something to be said for a hot hand.
Oh well, good comeback for the point. Some pretty heinous bounces against'em tonight. - Sayros
No quit gotta luv it. We got squeezed on the boards & it went the other way.

Friedman said something on the podcast that while not directly related (to this penalty), kinda makes sense. He said the league doesn’t prize offense the way the NFL or NBA does, and so he doesn’t think they’ll do anything about late game non calls. Like the Matthews whine, or they Hayman one.

No, you have to do one thing on the 2 on 1. You either have to take away the shooter, or, and I think for goalies the preference is to take away the pass. If you fail at both… |

I've never ever suggested the refs are out to get the Canucks. I complain about brutally bad officiating. I don't care if you defend it.

I’m not defending it. It just is what it is. It’s just that you don’t seem to mind when they make a terrible call that goes the Canucks way, which happens just as much. |

They shouldn't be giving offense any preferences over defense. |

I think what he was saying is that the leagues (NFL/NBA) wants to make their games more entertaining for fans so they couch the rules/officiating to make sure there’s plenty of scoring, while the NHL is fine with players fighting through it.
That probably speaks to the customers? I think generally we (hockey fans) are more entertained with a good battle than a high scoring penalty filled affair. |

"Better teams get better calls"? Canucks were clearly the better team vs the Habs yet when a Hab tripped over the net, the closest player to him goes to the box. So much for that theory...

Bruce Boudreau said one of the captains told him not to come into the room to talk to the team after the second period and said "I'll take care of this."
Luke Schenn told us on @Sportsnet650 that the player was J.T. Miller.

Don’t know what else Myers is supposed to do there, kind of unfortunate similar to the lucky bounces the caps got, oh well got a point after trailing by 2 in the third and played well after taking the lead I thought. |
