PO performer shouldn't mean great captain, otherwise Patrick Kane would be great captain material - Nucker101
Bo is slumping now. He's actually been this teams most consistent player going back many years now. Why the (frank) would you pretend otherwise if you didn't have a childish axe to grind?

Didn’t say only a PO performer. He’s stuck it out in lean years & more than held his own. If a trade casualty then all the focus is on the return. What teams need him?
NJD
Ducks
Bruins
just a few that come to mind. - Nighthawk
Need to find teams that need help on the PP and a middle 6 center with a promising young center to trade for him |

my axe to grind is with him being a 3rd line player at 5v5 and a poor captain. I'm not even saying he's a bad player, just overrated and in a role in this organization that's above what he's capable of.
He's good at faceoffs, powerplay and a decent middle 6 center at 5v5. |

Also lessens his contract price maybe. Still it’s premature of me to say. Heck I’m just being me 🤪

It's just a schtick he has going, he has been playing/trying to be controversial on any topic for over a year now.
If someone calls him out he tries to double down, but really does look foolish with all his flop cocking. - Makita
He's very single note, as are several posters on here. |

There are more captains past and present that are rather pacified when it comes to being aggressive than not. Skating up running your mouth is meaningless if you are not a player that intimidates anyone. So that is moot.
Henrik Sedin, Toews, Crosby, Karlsson, Mcdavid, Tavares, Kopitar, Koivu, Zetterberg are "soft" captains that I can think of from recent years and if I search lists of the past 10 seasons I'm sure I could find a hell of a lot more. People can debate the quality of these leaders but teams have looked to this players whether people like it or not.
It seems Coaches, GM's and players who choose their leaders don't have this hang up some do. |

Something no one has mentioned before about cap relief is the buy out of Myers? Sounds dumb for a few reasons but.
Next year would be a savings of 4 mil in cap relief . The second year you pay full price of 6 mil but you have a lot more cap space as in 33 mil .
I don't hate Myers so I am not sure if you just keep him for the two years or for the group that want Chaos Giraffe gone that is an option without giving up an asset to move him. I am also assuming the cap will finally go up in year two.
I believe Halak's bonus can also be paid out over two years so for all the moaning that goes on it looks like a 2.75 mil contract that can be paid out over 3 years.
Plenty of ways to move money around . - VANTEL
Probably could have stopped there.
Chaos Giraffe is having a very good season. I think he has positive trade value, if they wanted to move him. He's earning his money this year. |

Not according to half the people here. He gives the biggest cap relief next year.
For the record I don't mind him. |

He was so good for the Canucks his first eight years in Vancouver, only once did he not score 30, prorated in 95 due to the lockout.
He played in 79 playoff games his first eight years as a Canuck, 80 points in that time. He may not have been a great player but he was probably the best captain the organization has ever had. Playoff scoring, fought on occasion and stuck up for his teammates. |

It would be generous to call half the posters on here dimwitted, so...
Whatever apprehensions people had about signing Myers, he's bringing it this year. If he can keep playing like he has been, he's a top 4 Dman that the team needs. |

He’s forced to play too many minutes because beyond him and Quinn Hughes the rest are NHL garbage. The biggest shortcoming is the team’s defence. |

Horvat is a fine hockey player. If he wasn't wearing the C I doubt people would question much. He's also had some pretty poopty linemates over the years.
He's an elite 3C, or an average 2nd C. Pay him accordingly. He plays a 200ft game and will step up in the crunch. |
