Arizona leading the Leafs 2-0 . Even if short lived it warms my heart.

It would be generous to call half the posters on here dimwitted, so...
Whatever apprehensions people had about signing Myers, he's bringing it this year. If he can keep playing like he has been, he's a top 4 Dman that the team needs. - micah555
Yup!
Doesn't make his contract or signing ideal, same goes with OEL and the trade surrounding it.
What's really atrocious is how we've only drafted 1 NHL Dman in the past decade + that plays for our team. That's where all those picks being thrown away haunt us.

He was so good for the Canucks his first eight years in Vancouver, only once did he not score 30, prorated in 95 due to the lockout.
He played in 79 playoff games his first eight years as a Canuck, 80 points in that time. He may not have been a great player but he was probably the best captain the organization has ever had. Playoff scoring, fought on occasion and stuck up for his teammates. - LeftCoaster
He fought 14 times as a Canuck. That wasn’t his game and it’s not Bo’s either. I find both very similar in style and approach to the game. Bo just hasn’t had opportunity to show his leadership in the playoffs. Maybe someday he will. |

Bo is slumping now. He's actually been this teams most consistent player going back many years now. Why the (frank) would you pretend otherwise if you didn't have a childish axe to grind?
- boonerbuck
I would keep the 4 centres, demko and Hughes, build around that. |

There are more captains past and present that are rather pacified when it comes to being aggressive than not. Skating up running your mouth is meaningless if you are not a player that intimidates anyone. So that is moot.
Henrik Sedin, Toews, Crosby, Karlsson, Mcdavid, Tavares, Kopitar, Koivu, Zetterberg are "soft" captains that I can think of from recent years and if I search lists of the past 10 seasons I'm sure I could find a hell of a lot more. People can debate the quality of these leaders but teams have looked to this players whether people like it or not.
It seems Coaches, GM's and players who choose their leaders don't have this hang up some do. - boonerbuck
I agree. This need for a captain to be aggressive doesn’t make sense to me. Leave that poop for the knuckle draggers. |

I don’t think they’re anything alike, Linden was very opinionated in his ideals, unlike Horvat who’s too quiet, he was also better offensively than Horvat. Bo’s a good player and person, he’s just not a natural leader.
That’s just my opinion…that and $6.92 will get you sweet fu ck all |

Bo’s a far better fighter than Linden ever was. But going back and watching those crazy days of hockey is fun.

If you add one knuckle dragger to this team that can skate , not be terrible defensively and chip in the odd goal then this team looks very different.
All of a sudden everyone else on the team is tougher. |

He’s forced to play too many minutes because beyond him and Quinn Hughes the rest are NHL garbage. The biggest shortcoming is the team’s defence. - LeftCoaster
Myers is a solid 4D for us. We need top 2RHD for Quinn. OEL 3D is fine. All in all it’s solid then & the 3rd pair can be what top teams get from them & develop along the the way. |

Horvat is a fine hockey player. If he wasn't wearing the C I doubt people would question much. He's also had some pretty poopty linemates over the years.
He's an elite 3C, or an average 2nd C. Pay him accordingly. He plays a 200ft game and will step up in the crunch. - golfingsince
