No matter who we get it’ll be fun to argue about it with pretty much everyone. We all have different takes on what to do or who to get, etc - Slimtj100
If Kakko gets healthy and can replace Hunt , I'd be happy with Copp, a steady LD vet and and a couple third liners at deadline👍 |

I’m with you. Copp or rakell seem like the likeliest kind of addition and probably the most necessary. Really would be nice to be able to keep the player
I’ve been saying Rakell and Getzlaf would be a sweet exacta because that’s a 3rd line with Goodrow or Chytil (if he isn’t traded). Getzlaf should want to leave, his buddy Perry got his cup once he left. |

True, we added 4 players in the beginning of the season so another 4 players, another 1/3 roster turnover at the deadline is what they need, not better defensive play.
You sound like that (frank)ing Einstein who was been clamoring for Chychrun. |

Oh do tell???
These players you list have 20 games combined of NHL experience.
You definitely overvalue these prospects - Brukie
Jesus Christ, man.
They are just that, prospects!
You do realize that every team in the league operates under the same system, right? Every team has and needs prospects to round out their organization. It is a fact that New York has one of the strongest prospect groups in the league. Therefore, those PROSPECTS have trade value to other teams.
Stop being argumentative for the sake of being argumentative. |

Thanks for the insight Tony but Im just pointing out that the players he is willing to trade dont have enough value to land what he wants. Top 6 player, LHD and a few third liners. None of those prospects are cant miss or have excelled when they played. I used the Mac and Miller trade as an example. I mistakenly said Lindgren was from that trade, but he wasnt. |

Perry won his only cup with Anaheim, he lost back to back years with Dallas and Montreal to Tampa |

Just my opinion, but I really get the feeling Getzlaf will retire having only played for the Ducks. |

First of all I never said we “need” him. I’ve always said he’s a luxury.
One we would be very lucky to get. Imo🤷🏻♂️
In my defense, for the last 4 days I keep reading how bad our defense is. |

Adding Copp and Rakell at deadline and extra dman is too much for you...And no I don't want Chychrun. And who the fuuuck cares about spelling!? Most of us are typing on our phones while taking a poop. As long as you get people's point STFU about a few spelling errors . |

Well I care about spelling, there is a spell check feature that underlines when you dont spell it right. Use it, its free.
Depending at the cost to acquire them, No
But I dont feel that this team is ready to contend, so using these assets to acquire players to make a "Run" this year is wasting them. Another year of developing these players and having them play better defensively and use those assets when they are ready to make a run next year, would be better asset management.
This is just my opinion. I know the arguments of the Cap space and players getting older. Etc but the players getting one year older wont affect their production and as far as the Cap goes, teams always wind up a way around it, why cant the Rangers?? |

Well if/when NYR is in same position next year, they won't have any cap space to make any big pickups at deadline due to Fox and Zibs new contracts and cap situation . That's why I say NYR will be aggressive. |

Im not going to argue that Chychrun isnt a fantastic offensive defenseman. However, we already have one of the best defenses in the league. The issue we have is that all too frequently the 2 defensemen on the ice are the only ones playing defense. The middle of the ice is a sieve. Teams skate through the zone with absolutely no challenge or pressure. Adding another offensive defenseman to that mix isnt going to fix that. Unless we are able to challenge the middle of the ice and not give up a free path into our zone, nothing will change. |

That’s another reason why chychrun is so attractive, he’s a bargain with term.
If I’m giving up crazy assets I want something long term for it. I want to add to the existing core
To me I look at Chychrun and Schiefele as very similar additions. Core additions. Contract wise they fit in pretty nicely that way. This is the kind of move that should be THE PRIORITY for this org right now imo. Almost like the last piece (or two) if you will, hopefully. Who ever that player is, is what’s up for debates |
