I was going to put in that post that its probably better off for the trade market that they not play any of these guys but deleted it.

Showcasing and libor Hajek are words that shouldn’t go together

I know that trade sucks and always opens up wounds, but I feel like the org sold us a bill of goods on him. He was the key to that trade if I recall, and I don’t wanna say he’s given us nothing but it’s pretty close

That trade was Gomez McDonagh level bad. What can ya do

No point in living in the past, At some point just gotta take it on the chin, cut our losses and move forward, as we have to do with the Buch trade.

Shockingly not every player will pan out. Who would have thought?

The thing that irked me about that trade is we always say to get other teams top players we’ll have to trade our top prospects. In that trade, Howden and Hajek were ranked like 5 and 7 for Tampas prospects at the time. They added one of the best dman in the league at the time for middle of the road prospects and a 20+ draft pick.

Rangers traded up in the draft to get Staal, K'Andre Miller and Braden Schneider because they had a conviction that they were going to be great.
They had the same type of conviction on Howden and Hajek. Sometimes the organization is just wrong. Happens, but you have to move on...

They were ranked 5 and 7 for a reason. Miller and Schneider were drafted right around where they were ranked to be drafted. Anytime the organization “reaches” on a player it doesn’t seem to work out to well for them. They “reached” on Howden and Hajek as prospects, they reached on Lias and Olaf, all busts.

Paquette on waivers. Only making 950k, not a bad idea to add some more grit on the 4th line over McKegg/Hunt or incase Reaves gets hurt.

This is an easy yes from me, former teammate of Goodrow's for the first SC run. Can easily fill in for Rooney on that 4th line with Goodrow and Reaves.

Landeskog getting knee surgery and will be back for the "stretch run". AKA gonna trade for a big contract that they couldnt normally fit under the cap but now can with their captain on IR

Ya I think he’d be a good fit. Would cost nothing and he’s an UFA at the end of the year so there’s no carry over if it doesn’t work out.
